Student answer (Band 5.0)

In some countries of the world the younger people population is much more then older people.Yes there are more postive aspects then the negetive effects of these situation.

To begin with the advantages,Firstly if the population are of young people then this is good for the country economy as there are large number of young worker who can do work faster and effectively as compared to the old people like taking an example of the nation spain there are more younger people as compared to older people so they have a good economy status whole around the world and not only in the spain most of the europian countries have much younger people. Therefore, these countries are much devloped then most of the other countries.Secondaly,if the country leader are of young age these thik help to grow a nation as per the new mindset.

On the other hand,There are also disadvantages of these lack of work experience if the older person are less in the country these means a lack of experience is having in the new generation which is not good for the people they faces much more diffeculty to solve any kind of problem then the countries in which the proportion of the old aged people and the young generation are almost same.

To conclude,Having the approximately same percentage of the people of different age groups help the nation to grow faster and it does not create any kind of partial feeling for anybody.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of having a young population, and takes a clear position. However, the ideas are somewhat under-developed and limited in scope, relying on general statements rather than deep elaboration. For instance, the mention of Spain and European economies is brief and lacks specific details. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum, containing only 244 words. This under-length issue negatively impacts the overall development and completeness of the task, capping the score for Task Achievement at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay shows an attempt at basic paragraphing and structure, with clear signposts such as 'To begin with the advantages' and 'On the other hand'. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor sentence boundary punctuation (such as missing spaces after periods and commas) and weak cohesive devices. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall flow is mechanical. The conclusion contradicts the stance taken in the introduction and body paragraphs by suggesting that having 'approximately same percentage' is best, whereas the body argues that youth brings more advantages. Cohesion is therefore inadequate and repetitive, leading to a Band 5.0 score.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'postive' instead of 'positive', 'negetive', 'economy status' instead of 'economic status', and 'devloped'. The student attempts some less common terms like 'proportion' and 'generation', but overall the lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. Frequent misspellings and morphological errors ('younger people population', 'older person are less') keep the score at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or poorly constructed compound sentences, and attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are pervasive punctuation and capitalization errors throughout the text, such as missing capital letters at the start of sentences ('Yes there', 'To begin'), run-on sentences, and absent spaces after punctuation marks. Grammatical inaccuracies such as 'these situation', 'if the population are', and 'the people they faces much more diffeculty' cause frequent difficulty for the reader and demonstrate weak control over basic grammar.
