Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries today, young adults make up a larger population than older people. While this trend can create the some challenge, I believe that the advantages because a youthful population contribute significantly to economic growth.

One of the major advantage is a strong workforce. More people can work and contribute the economy. For example, countries such as india benifits from their young population, which have supported the growth of industries such as manufacturing and technology.

Another advantage is that young people tend to be more innovative and open to change. They created new technology techniques. They can enhanced growth of the country. Young people can increased productivity, creativity, and economic growth.

However, large youth population can also create difficulty. If there are not sufficient amount of job opportunities, unemployment rate is rosen and social problems. In additional, goverment may faced pressure on education, healthcare and housing.

I believe the positive effects are more crucial. Youth population can foster the new creation.

In conclusion, although a high proportion of young adults may present certain challenges, the advantages particularly in terms of innovation, clearly outweigh the disadvantage.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The student has attempted the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of having a large young adult population, maintaining a position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, there are significant limitations in development. Furthermore, the length requirement has not been met, as the response contains only 186 words compared to the minimum of 250 words. This severe under-length directly impacts task fulfillment, as the ideas remain limited, repetitive, and under-developed, such as the brief mentions of innovation and employment issues. Because the content is curtailed and fails to fully explore the prompt with well-supported arguments, it fits best within the Band 4 descriptors for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text is organized into short paragraphs representing an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There are basic attempts at logical progression, such as starting body paragraphs with phrases like 'One of the major advantage' and 'Another advantage'. However, cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical. Referencing and logical transitions are weak, and the overall progression is disrupted by the brevity and repetitive nature of the arguments. Paragraphing is utilized, but the paragraphs are underdeveloped and lack cohesive flow. These features place the response firmly at Band 5.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with instances of strain and noticeable errors in word choice and form. Examples include 'the some challenge', 'benifits' (benefits), 'have supported', 'new technology techniques', and 'new creation'. While the writer attempts less common vocabulary such as 'innovative' and 'productivity', inaccuracies in collocation and spelling cause some difficulty for the reader. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for conveying simple ideas, corresponding to a Band 5 performance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is quite low. There are frequent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and article usage, such as 'unemployment rate is rosen and social problems', 'goverment may faced pressure', and 'a youthful population contribute'. Additionally, punctuation and sentence structures are sometimes awkward or incomplete. These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader, matching the profile for a Band 5.
