Student answer (Band 5.5)

In some countries the population of the young adults are significantly higher proprtion as compared with the number of older people.i believe its advantages outweigh its disadvantages because young population can contribute higher economic growth and social development.

one of the advantages of having large young population is they are young minds with more energy and sources and more familier with the latest technology. They have more criosity to explore in different sectors and development.Larger number of the youngster is also a strength of the couuntry and also contribute into maintaning the ratio of the gender.

In some countries haing more young people is also result as a challenging situation which includes lack of jobs, Facelities, and somtime food cricis. Young generation in these sitation are more often like to move abroad for the better oppourtunities and growth. Public services is also challeniging in these situartion and no support from the government are the main causes behind this.

In conclusion, although having young generation can be a pressure on employemnet, education and public services, the economic and social benefits of a large working-age population are more significant. Therefore, I believe that the advantages of this demographic structure outweigh its disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of having a young population, but it only partially develops the ideas. For instance, the points regarding economic growth and social development are stated rather than fully extended with specific examples. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the response falls significantly short of the 250-word minimum, containing only 200 words. To reach a higher band, you need to expand upon your main points more thoroughly with detailed explanations and ensure you meet the required word count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a basic logical organisation to the response, with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing advantages and disadvantages respectively, and a conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression between the ideas, and paragraphing is somewhat inconsistent, as seen in the uncapitalised beginnings of sentences and erratic spacing. Cohesive devices are used minimally or inaccurately, such as relying heavily on basic transitional phrases without smooth links. To improve, you should ensure each paragraph has a clear central topic, use a wider range of cohesive devices naturally, and maintain consistent paragraphing and capitalization.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. There are noticeable errors in spelling, word choice, and word formation throughout the text, such as 'proprtion', 'familier', 'criosity', 'youngster', 'haing', 'Facelities', 'cricis', 'situation', and 'oppourtunities'. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. While there is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'economic growth' and 'demographic structure', the persistent lexical slips restrict the score. To progress, you need to learn correct word forms, expand your vocabulary range, and carefully check your spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex ones. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues like 'the population of the young adults are' and 'Public services is also challeniging', as well as missing articles and punctuation errors, such as lowercase sentence beginnings ('i believe'). These frequent mistakes cause strain for the reader. To achieve a higher band, you need to practise using a wider variety of complex structures accurately and eliminate basic errors in agreement and punctuation.
