Student answer (Band 5.5)
Yes at the present time, the population of some countries includes a relatively large number of young adults, compared with the number of older people. While it has a relative amount of advantages and disadvantages.
Young adults of this fast running generation actually provide a lot of benefits to the community. Young people’s minds are indulged with a lot of new understanding , power and a completely different and risk taking mind. The young generation is more equipped with new technologies and new perspectives which helps them understand and analyse the world in a growing and developing matter. For example , a publicist of a famous celebrity or a social media manager of a fashion brand can be a young adult or an elderly as well. But, a young adult is far more beneficial and monetary as its more aware and more equipped with what the audience and the generation wants currently. A young adult is more used to new growing skills/tools which are better for a successful outcome in any situation.
While it does have its drawbacks as well, young adults also are said to be having an over confident mindset which leads to setbacks and short term results. This is where elderly skills are more relevant . Older people are much more experienced and well versed with the growing world as they have been through different stages of situations. They have long term plans which have worked in the past , which may or may not be suitabe tofast evolving generation . Hence Young people and older people both have their own share of advantages and disadvantages , sometimes the advantages do outweigh the disadvantages but certain times it can be reversed too, which makes it important to take in note of both populations and their skills and manage to balance them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially. It attempts to discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of having a large number of young adults in the population, noting points such as technological equipment and risk-taking mindsets versus overconfidence and lack of long-term planning. However, the position is not always clear, and the overall argument tends to be somewhat confused by the end, concluding rather neutrally without fully resolving whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Furthermore, 24 words copied directly from the task prompt were present and correctly excluded from the word count. Ideas remain limited and under-developed, lacking sufficient extension with relevant examples, which keeps the response at this level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organization evident in the division of paragraphs into an introduction, a body paragraph on advantages, a body paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression throughout the text, and the transitions between thoughts feel abrupt. Cohesive devices are used minimally and sometimes inaccurately, such as the repetitive use of 'a young adult' and 'young people' without smooth referencing. Paragraphing is present, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs is disjointed, leading to mechanical connections that hinder a seamless reading experience.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The writer uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, incorporating terms like 'fast running generation', 'risk taking mind', and 'over confident mindset'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'monetary' instead of 'financially lucrative', and 'suitabe tofast evolving generation' due to spacing and spelling issues. These lexical inaccuracies and occasional awkward phrasings cause some difficulty for the reader, preventing the text from achieving a higher level of precision and naturalness.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple constructions and straightforward coordination. Attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, visible in punctuation errors and awkward clause attachments, such as in the sentence beginning with 'While it has a relative amount of advantages...' which lacks a main clause. There are frequent grammatical errors including missing articles, subject-verb agreement issues ('young adults also are said to be having'), and punctuation lapses like spacing before commas. These errors cause frequent difficulty and strain for the reader.
