Student answer (Band 5.5)

In todays world, Population of some countries includes a relatively large number of young people, compared with the number of older people. Overall its a good situation where you have most of the labor force to work at different fields. Older people do have their own advantages but I think the advantages of having youger generation do overweigh them.

Young people tend to have more strength and capacity to endure hardships, they can lack experience but they have capability to work at faster level more accurately. For example it is more reliable to make them understand any system than elder people. Nowadays mostly every country is shifted to AI and Teachnology based systems, which can easily be understood by younger generation because they have been brought up in such situations. China is an example with many young people , young mindsets and their economy has been rapidly growing.

Older people do have experiences but they lack strenght also they are mostly treated as a burden on societies and government because they have to pay for their pension and health. They are incapable to remember things they have been taught and they tend to forget easily. They are also scared of taking new steps, new challenges and are of fear to lose money while young boys and girls they want to learn new skills by experiencing them by themselves even if they fail.

In conclusion, people with age groups 25-45 are more reliable than people with 60+ age group to dpened a coutry on.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt only partially. First, it must be noted that the response falls slightly short of the minimum word count requirement, coming in at 242 words, with 11 words directly copied from the task prompt excluded from the count. Regarding the content, the writer expresses a clear position that the advantages of having a younger population outweigh the disadvantages, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the mention of China's rapidly growing economy due to young mindsets is asserted rather than supported with sufficient explanation. The arguments concerning older people are also somewhat generalized and lack extension, preventing the task achievement from reaching a higher level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organization with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but the essay lacks a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs is weak. Cohesive devices are minimal, repetitive, or inaccurate, such as starting multiple sentences and clauses with loose structures like 'Older people do have...' and 'They are also...'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'they' and 'them', which occasionally creates ambiguity regarding whether the writer is referring to young or older people. Overall, the structural progression feels disjointed and mechanical rather than naturally connected.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic ideas about the topic. There are noticeable lexical errors, including spelling mistakes such as 'youger' instead of 'younger', 'Teachnology' instead of 'technology', and 'dpened a coutry' instead of 'depend a country'. Word choices and collocations are often basic or awkward, such as 'work at faster level' and 'of fear to lose money'. These frequent inaccuracies and spelling slips cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical range to a lower band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The grammatical structures are limited in range, consisting mostly of simple and straightforward compound sentences. Attempts at more complex sentences are frequently faulty, characterized by run-on structures, comma splices, and incorrect punctuation, as seen in sentences like 'Young people tend to have more strength and capacity to endure hardships, they can lack experience but they have capability...' Errors in articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement are frequent throughout the text, such as 'in todays world', 'at different fields', and 'elder people' instead of 'older people'. These frequent errors frequently cause strain and difficulty for the reader.
