Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, some countries are experiencing a demographic imbalance in which the population of young adults are relatively higher than the older people. This essay will discuss both benefits and drawbacks of this trend. Overall, i beleieve that having a large number of young population can be of benefit for the country.
The advantages of having huge number of young population outweight the disadvantages because a country can have enough man-power as aresult youth can be a driver of economy in the country. For example, The younger generation is more resilient towards harsh working environment, along with that they also boost the overall work force of any country.
Younger people have fresh minds that can lead to innovation and entrepreneurship which will boost economic productivity. They have low work dependency and can mange tasks effectively on their own.
However, this demographic trend can be challenging which job market become saturated, this will lead to youth unemployment and pressure on country's economy. Other than economic challenges, unemployment can lead to major social challenges among youth and may lead to depression and anxiety.
However, there are challenges in managing larger young population but in my opinion having a larger young adults can be of great advantage for the country if resources are managed properly. The right opportunities and career counsling can help tackle these challenges and make youth valuable for the country and it's economy. Youth can be an asset for country if they are guided properly and provided by the right facilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a clear overall view: a large young population can benefit a country if resources and opportunities are managed well. Relevant advantages include a larger workforce, innovation and entrepreneurship, while you also identify unemployment and its possible social effects. These points keep the response focused on the task. However, several ideas are asserted rather than explained. For instance, saying young people are “more resilient towards harsh working environment” does not show how this translates into a national advantage, and the link between low dependency and managing tasks independently is unclear. Develop fewer points with a specific explanation or example, and make the comparison of advantages and disadvantages more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, discussion of advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a concluding position. The reader can follow the main argument, and transitions such as “For example” and “However” help signal relationships between ideas. At times, though, cohesion feels mechanical or the links are unclear. “However” begins both the disadvantages paragraph and the conclusion, where a different transition would better show that you are summarising. The advantages paragraph also moves quickly from workforce size to resilience, innovation and dependency without fully connecting these points. Use clearer topic sentences and link each explanation directly to the paragraph’s main claim; ensure references such as “this trend” have an unmistakable antecedent.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “demographic imbalance,” “workforce,” “economic productivity,” “entrepreneurship,” and “unemployment.” These choices make the subject clear, and attempts at more specific language are appropriate for the task. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, however, such as “huge number of young population,” “low work dependency,” and “provided by the right facilities.” Spelling errors in “beleieve,” “outweight,” “mange,” and “counsling” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations and check spelling carefully: for example, refer to “a large young population,” “a lower dependency ratio,” and opportunities or facilities being “provided to” young people.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if resources are managed properly” and a relative clause in “which will boost economic productivity.” Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. In the opening, “the population … are” should be “the population … is”; “a country can have enough man-power as aresult youth can be” needs clearer clause boundaries and punctuation. The sentence beginning “this demographic trend can be challenging which job market become saturated” is also structurally incomplete; use a construction such as “can be challenging because the job market may become saturated.” Check articles, agreement, verb forms and punctuation, while continuing to practise complex sentences.
