Student answer (Band 6.0)

There are some country with larger proportion of young people in contrast to the elderly population. There has been an increasing debate whether this condition is good for the country or have negative impact. I completely agree that having more young people give more advantage to a cuntry in comparison to the negative advantages.

People with opinion of having large number of adults impact negatively the economy may argue that this difference may put strain on infrastructure. Country may face difficulty with managing institutes. If the countries educational system is not developed enough then educational institutes may struggle to cope up with space requirements and quality of education for young students. Similarly, Number of universities may be leass sufficient to provide admission to all young adults. It will be challanging for developing country with poor industrial infrastructure that may fail to provide enough jobs to youth. Eventually, it will result in overall poor quality of life for young people and even entire economy may suffer.

On the other hand, advantages of having more young people in country are much bigger then disadvantages. Economy grows with successful business and industry and to run them youngenergetic blood is required. Although senior people give sensible advices and it is fruitful to have senior citizens to advice young ones. But young people can drive economy much better then older people with theri enthusiastic mindset if economy is managed with sensible steps and for the good of country. There are some countris that suffer due to lack of labour for instance Japan and countries in Europe have demand for young people to drive their economy.

In conclusion, Disadvantage of having more young people are unlikely to outweight the advantages. Thisis mainly due to the economy growth and development is highly dependent on youth if adminstration manages effectively.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you argue that the benefits of a youthful population outweigh the drawbacks, and the conclusion returns to this view. You address both sides, identifying pressure on education and employment as disadvantages and a larger workforce and economic growth as benefits. This covers the task well, but the development is uneven: the education and job pressures are explained in some detail, while the economic case relies mainly on the broad claim that young people drive business and industry. The Japan and Europe example is relevant, but it would be stronger if you explained how labour shortages there demonstrate the value of a larger young workforce. To strengthen the response, develop the benefits with a specific mechanism or example and clarify how effective administration can reduce the disadvantages.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present opposing considerations, and a conclusion restates your judgement. Signposting such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the argument. The progression is generally logical, although some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Although senior people give sensible advices… But young people…” creates a confusing relationship between the contrast and the main claim, while “Eventually” does not clearly show how limited jobs lead to the stated effects. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the cause-and-effect links explicit. Clearer referencing and smoother connections between claims and examples would make the organisation more controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “strain on infrastructure,” “industrial infrastructure,” “labour,” and “quality of life,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general terms such as “young people,” “country,” and “economy,” as well as noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors. Examples include “youngenergetic blood,” “sensible advices,” “leass sufficient,” and “outweight.” These sometimes make the intended meaning less immediate. Build a more precise set of expressions for population and employment, and check spelling and natural word partnerships. For instance, use “working-age population” or “labour force” where appropriate, and prefer “provide advice” to “give sensible advices.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional and subordinate structures such as “If the countries educational system is not developed enough…” and “Although senior people give sensible advices…”. This shows an effort to express relationships between ideas, but control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation recur. For example, “There are some country” has a plural agreement problem, and “having more young people give more advantage” has an incorrect verb form and number pattern. The sentence beginning “Although” is also left without a properly connected main clause. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete contrast structures, then proofread sentence boundaries and capitalisation. More reliable control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
