Student answer (Band 5.0)

In present times the population of some countries has relatively more young adults than that of older people.

This kind of situation can definitely be positive advantage and it can give more benefits than disadvantages.

With the young population the country would have larger portion in work force who can be handy in the countries growth with the larger population of young people greater works can be done.

The youth of today is people who change the direction of the country.

The young adult population can be great advantage in alot of fields like science and technology, defence, biological field etc.

In the recent days young people established a space company called skyspace is the first private company to go to space .

With the population of older people that can be a bit concern where productivity decrease with age but that can be achieved with young population.

but for the young population also wants to given enough facilities like health education and enough routes of empowerment opportunities. If those were not given they would remain abondened and left behind.

The young population when left behind they would become burden to the country instead of strength.

Thus the young population with enough help and opportunities would become strength or else could remain a burden

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a clear position that a youthful population can bring more benefits than disadvantages, and you give relevant reasons, including a larger workforce and contributions to science, technology and defence. You also recognise an important condition: young people need education, healthcare and opportunities, or they may become a burden. However, these points are mostly asserted rather than explained with specific consequences or well-developed examples; the reference to “skyspace” is brief and does not clearly show how it supports your argument. The response also does not meet the required minimum of 250 words, so the discussion is too short to develop both sides fully. Explain the disadvantages more precisely and support your main claims with a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic overall sequence: you introduce your view, describe potential benefits, then consider risks and conclude that support for young people matters. This gives the reader a general sense of your argument. However, the response is not divided into clear paragraphs, and several ideas run together, particularly the sentence beginning “With the young population…” The repeated use of “young population” and “strength” makes progression feel circular rather than cumulative. The opening and conclusion also repeat the same central claim without adding a new summary of the reasons. Use separate paragraphs for benefits, disadvantages and your conclusion, and connect each point with clear references and transitions so the argument develops step by step.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “work force,” “productivity,” “empowerment opportunities,” and “science and technology,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several phrases are imprecise or unnatural, such as “positive advantage,” “larger works can be done,” and “a bit concern.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “alot,” “abondened,” and “countries growth,” also reduce accuracy and can distract the reader. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe young adults as contributing to economic growth or filling a larger share of the workforce, rather than relying on broad phrases such as “greater works can be done.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your response communicates its main ideas through mostly simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to link clauses using “where,” “but,” and “if.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “With the population of older people that can be a bit concern” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “The young population when left behind they would become burden” has faulty clause structure and is missing an article. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “The youth of today is people,” and the long sentence about the workforce. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check articles, agreement, and punctuation before submitting.
