Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many countries, the majory of the population is in it's youth and have less proportion of elderly people. There is ongoing debate whether it is more beneficial or harmful situation. There might risk of loss of some skills that are popular among the older generations only, but I believe it can be highly advantageous for economy of the country.
When a country has more able bodied people who can contribute towards the growth of it's economy, it becomes easier to start big projects without worrying about supply of wokers. For example, when Pakistan started CPAC project, it didn't need to hire foreigners and go through extra hastle and fortunately, whole Labor supply was available from the start of project. At the same time, less older people means less pressure on economy in regards of healthcare expenditures. Elderly people need special care every now and then and it does affect national budget.
There are many skills and knowledge that are only popular among older generations only. With less older people available, that knowledge starts to become rare and chances of losing precious knowledge becomes adherent. For example, map reading was common knowledge and people were treating it as essential skill but in new generations no one bother to learn it. As digitalization has become popular, new generation refuse to learn basic information which demand more time with available easier alternative.
In conclusion, the youth is like kids of nation that are assets and essential for future progress and elderly people are like pare

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and give a clear overall view: a youthful population is advantageous, particularly for economic growth, despite the risk of losing older generations’ knowledge. The examples about labour for the CPEC project, healthcare spending and map-reading are relevant. However, the economic benefits receive more explanation than the loss of knowledge, which is illustrated mainly through one example and an unclear claim about digitalisation. The conclusion begins to restate your position but ends unfinished (“elderly people are like pare…”), so it does not fully summarise the comparison or clearly confirm why the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Develop the less-supported point and complete the conclusion to make the response more fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on economic benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and an attempted conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your argument, and transitions such as “For example” and “At the same time” help connect supporting points. However, progression is uneven: the final paragraph is incomplete, and the link between digitalisation and the loss of older people’s knowledge is not made fully clear. Some connections are also mechanical, with repeated “For example” style development and limited signposting of how each point answers the outweigh question. Use clearer topic sentences and explicit comparisons between the benefits and costs, then finish with a complete concluding paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “able bodied,” “contribute towards the growth,” “healthcare expenditures,” and “precious knowledge.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “majory,” “wokers,” “hastle,” and “adherent.” Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “popular among the older generations only” and “chances of losing precious knowledge becomes.” These do not generally prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and fluency. Check spelling carefully and learn common academic collocations; for example, say “the knowledge may be lost” rather than using an awkward construction around “chances.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “When a country has more able bodied people… it becomes easier…” and a contrast introduced by “but.” The main argument is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. Examples include “the population … is in it’s youth and have,” where agreement and pronoun form are incorrect, and “There might risk,” which needs a grammatical subject and verb pattern. There are also issues with articles and number, as in “less older people means,” and the final sentence is incomplete. Work on subject–verb agreement, article use, and complete sentence construction. Proofreading these patterns would make your varied sentence attempts more controlled.
