Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, and you give relevant reasons, including young adults’ technological knowledge, contribution to the workforce, and participation in international competitions. The Bangladesh example also helps connect your argument to a real context. However, the response develops the advantages much more than the disadvantages, and the comparison with older people is asserted rather than explored. For instance, saying older people “can not devote themselves to do anything special” is a broad claim that needs qualification or support. Some points, such as global competition and industrialisation, are introduced but not explained in detail. Develop both sides more evenly and show explicitly why the benefits outweigh the costs. The response meets the required length; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present supporting reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Ideas generally follow a sensible order, moving from technology and skills to national contribution and the Bangladesh example. However, progression within sentences is sometimes difficult to follow because several points are joined together, particularly in the opening and the third paragraph. Connectors such as “also,” “as well as,” and “which will ultimately” are repeated, and some links between claims are unclear. For example, the shift from research and innovation to industrialisation would benefit from a clearer explanation. Use shorter, more focused sentences, and make each paragraph develop one main idea with explicit links between its supporting details.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “skilled workforce,” “global competition,” “research and innovation,” and “unemployment rate.” These choices help communicate your main ideas, and some less common expressions show an effort to discuss economic and social effects. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “young adults are asset,” “sufficient privilege,” and “bring name and fame.” The repeated use of “country,” “youth,” and “contribute” also limits flexibility. Aim for more natural academic collocations and vary key terms—for example, use “national economy,” “younger generation,” or “make a contribution.” More precise vocabulary would make your argument sound clearer and more controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “as,” and “which,” and your main meaning is generally understandable. However, some sentences contain several grammatical problems at once, which makes the argument harder to read. Examples include “the youth are asset,” “the technology is improving day by day also new technology is developing,” and “as they more connected with technology.” These show issues with articles, sentence boundaries, and missing verbs. There are also errors in agreement and verb patterns, as in “the large number of young generation will contribute” and “devote themselves to do.” Use a wider range of sentence structures, but keep each sentence manageable; check articles, subject–verb agreement, and complete clauses during revision.
