Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully identified the main trends and provided relevant data points to support your summary. You covered all categories (daily, weekly, monthly, never) and made appropriate comparisons between the years. However, the overview is slightly weak; while it mentions trends, it could be more comprehensive by highlighting the most significant shift (the rise in monthly consumption versus the decline in weekly consumption). The data is generally accurate, though ensure that your descriptions of trends (e.g., 'rocketed') are supported by the actual magnitude of change shown in the graph.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the data. You use some cohesive devices like 'However', 'Further', and 'To embark' (though 'To embark' is not a standard transition for this task). The progression of ideas is clear, but the flow between sentences can feel a bit mechanical at times. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your referencing (e.g., 'the rest two years') is more precise to avoid ambiguity.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'delineates', 'calibrated', and 'consumption'. There are some minor issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the rest two years' (better: 'the remaining years') and 'outside food' (better: 'fast food' or 'restaurant meals'). The phrase 'To embark' is also an incorrect choice for starting a report. Increasing your use of precise academic collocations would help improve your score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips, such as 'it ingestion of' (extra 'it'), 'the rest two years' (should be 'the remaining two years'), and 'While, it was nearly (27%)' (incorrect sentence fragment). Punctuation is generally functional, but be careful with the placement of commas and parentheses. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will help you move into the 7.0 band.
