Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the chart, but the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identify some data points, the overview is weak and lacks a clear summary of the overall trends. For instance, you mention that visitors 'kept increasing,' which is not clearly supported by the data provided. Additionally, there is a recurring issue with terminology; you refer to 'fast food hotels,' which is inaccurate as the chart refers to restaurants. To improve, ensure you provide a clear overview of the most significant trends at the beginning and use more precise data comparisons rather than listing isolated figures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To begin with' and 'Moreover.' The progression of ideas between sentences is sometimes disjointed, making it difficult to follow the logic of the comparisons. For example, the transition between the 2006 data and the 2013 data is abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are significant issues with word choice and collocation. Referring to fast food restaurants as 'hotels' is a major error that affects the clarity of your report. You also use 'junk food' and 'fast food' interchangeably, which is acceptable, but the phrasing 'people in less amount' is unnatural. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary, such as 'proportion,' 'fluctuation,' or 'significant,' and ensure your terminology accurately reflects the subject matter of the prompt.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the people who eats everyday') and awkward phrasing ('it was measure that somewhere 33%'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction that make some parts of the text difficult to parse. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound before attempting more complex forms.
