Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the task by summarizing the main trends in fast food consumption. You have identified the most popular and least popular categories, which is good. However, the analysis is somewhat limited. For instance, you mention that 'residents who ate junk food once or twice week is similar with once a week', but you do not provide specific data points to support this comparison, which is a key requirement for Task 1. Additionally, some data points are slightly inaccurate or confusingly presented. To improve, ensure you clearly highlight the most significant changes and provide precise figures for all categories mentioned to fully support your summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall', 'In contrast', and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'residents who ate junk food once or twice week is similar with once a week'. The logical progression is present but could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would help elevate the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive and basic. You frequently use the term 'junk food' and 'ate', which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'most famous choice' (should be 'most popular') and 'increases at 33%' (should be 'increased to 33%'). To achieve a higher band score, try to incorporate a wider range of synonyms and more precise academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'proportion'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('citizens to ate'), preposition usage ('decreased at 2.5%'), and article usage ('the USA people'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are noticeable and occur regularly. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency and the correct use of prepositions when describing statistical data.
