Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the task by summarizing the main features of the chart. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identified some data points, the comparisons are often unclear or inaccurate, such as the statement that 'once a week' was the maximum in all three years, which is not fully supported by the data provided. The overview is present but lacks a clear synthesis of the trends. To improve, ensure that you select the most significant data points and compare them more precisely rather than listing individual figures without clear context or grouping.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In contrary' (should be 'In contrast') and 'Taking to the remaining information into consideration'. The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, making it difficult to follow the logical progression of the data. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. There are several awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'frequency of consumed fast food restaurants' (which is grammatically incorrect) and 'ate fast every day'. You rely on basic descriptors and struggle to use more sophisticated vocabulary to describe trends or proportions. To improve, focus on learning specific collocations for describing data, such as 'a significant proportion', 'remained stable', or 'experienced a slight fluctuation'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'While who ate several times a week was remain constant' and 'Which ate a few times in year was same'. These errors involve incorrect verb forms, missing subjects, and faulty sentence construction. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of relative clauses.
