Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to summarize the data, but it fails to accurately report the main features. The description of the data is often confusing or factually incorrect based on the provided chart (e.g., stating 'less than five percent' for categories that clearly show higher percentages). The overview is weak and does not provide a clear summary of the trends. Key comparisons are missing or poorly articulated, making it difficult for the reader to understand the actual information presented in the chart. To improve, focus on identifying the highest and lowest points and describing the trends (increase/decrease) more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The essay lacks a logical flow. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the progression of ideas is disjointed. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'As we see' and 'In USA'. The referencing is often unclear, making it hard to follow which data point the writer is referring to. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'in contrast', 'consequently') and ensure each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'eat' and 'junk food', and the phrasing is often unnatural or inaccurate (e.g., 'persons who eat junk food'). There are also spelling errors such as 'prpole' and 'pesent'. The range is insufficient to convey the information with any degree of precision. To improve, learn topic-specific vocabulary related to data description, such as 'consumption', 'proportion', 'fluctuate', and 'significant', and practice using these in the context of describing charts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people are eat', 'they did not ate') and sentence structure. Complex sentence attempts are largely unsuccessful and contain errors that distort the intended meaning. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, specifically the correct use of tenses and subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
