Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response provides a summary of the main features, but the reporting is often inaccurate or confusing. For example, the statement that '30% of people identical to consume fast food once or twice a month' is unclear, and the data interpretation for 2006 and 2013 is inconsistent with the visual evidence. While you have attempted to cover the categories, the lack of precision in describing the trends and the failure to clearly compare the data points across the years limit the effectiveness of the report. To improve, ensure that the figures cited accurately reflect the chart and that the trends (increases/decreases) are described with greater clarity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear cohesive devices. Phrases like 'At a fleeting glance' and 'Moving further' are used, but the sentences that follow often lack clear links to the previous information. Referencing is sometimes confusing, particularly when discussing the 'remaining categories,' making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the different groups and years. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence flows logically from the last will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and often misused. There are several instances of unnatural word choices, such as 'highly denoted population,' 'devour fast food,' and 'rest year.' Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'restuarants' and 'caliberated.' While you attempt to use some descriptive language, the lack of precision and the repetitive nature of the vocabulary hinder the communication of the data. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'fluctuated,' 'remained stable,' or 'experienced a marginal increase,' and ensure correct spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede understanding. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('fast food neglected by only least population'), missing articles ('in USA'), and awkward sentence structures ('the 4%population neglect to ate fast food'). While you attempt to use some complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to a lack of clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and paying closer attention to article usage and prepositional phrases. Reducing the frequency of these errors is essential for achieving a higher score.
