Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response provides an overview and selects some key features, but the reporting is inconsistent and lacks clarity. While you identify the highest and lowest categories, the data presentation is often confusing. For instance, the description of the 'once a week' category is difficult to follow due to poor sentence structure and unclear data points. The comparison between years is also fragmented, making it hard for the reader to grasp the trends. To improve, ensure that you group data logically and use precise language to describe the changes over time, rather than just listing percentages without clear context or comparative analysis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'Fleeting a glance' and 'Moving ahead', which do not function effectively as transition signals. The progression of ideas is disjointed, and the referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to follow the relationship between the categories and the years. To improve, focus on using standard linking words (e.g., 'In contrast', 'Furthermore', 'Subsequently') and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one to create a more cohesive narrative.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with some awkward phrasing that hinders clarity. Phrases like 'calibrated into percentage' and 'highest value covered by every day' are unnatural and imprecise. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'fast fast' (repetition) and 'remain similar in last two years'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the range of vocabulary is not sufficient to demonstrate flexibility or precision. You should aim to use more varied and accurate terminology for describing trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'accounted for'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with article usage ('in USA'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence fragments. Many sentences are poorly constructed, such as 'American people ate fast food in once or twice a month had highest value', which lacks a clear grammatical structure. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misplaced commas and periods. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors in articles and prepositions.
