Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarize the data but fails to provide a clear overview of the main trends. While you mention that restaurant food is becoming popular, the supporting details are often inaccurate or confusing. For instance, you state there was 'no change' in the 'never' category, which is correct, but your descriptions of the other categories (e.g., 'several times a week') are vague and sometimes contradict the visual data. To improve, you must focus on identifying the most significant trends—such as the peak in 2006 for several categories—and use precise data points to support your observations rather than general descriptions like 'considerably change' or 'slightly growth'.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and misuse of cohesive devices. Phrases like 'At the fleeting glance' and 'Followed by' are used incorrectly, which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. Additionally, the referencing is often unclear; for example, 'those which ate single time' is grammatically weak and lacks a clear antecedent. To achieve a higher band, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that transition words are used to connect ideas logically rather than just acting as mechanical fillers at the start of sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic verbs like 'seen', 'shown', and 'ate' throughout the response. There are also several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'calibrated into percentile' (which is technically incorrect in this context) and 'incline was seen' (where 'increase' would be more appropriate). To improve, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary related to data description, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'peaked', or 'experienced a marginal decline'. Avoid using informal or non-standard phrasing like 'crystal clear' in an academic report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'their was no any variation'), incorrect verb tenses, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'individuals those ate fast food'). The use of 'their' instead of 'there' is a recurring error that affects the professional tone of the writing. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that articles and prepositions are used correctly before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
