Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to summarise the data, but it fails to clearly identify and report the main features. The description of the trends is confusing and often inaccurate when compared to the provided chart. For example, the statement that 'once a week was highest percentage' is not clearly supported by a coherent analysis of the data points. Furthermore, the reporting of figures is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the trends over the decade. To improve, you should focus on grouping data logically—such as identifying the most popular and least popular categories—rather than listing individual percentages in a fragmented manner.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'To commence with' and 'moving towards of further information'. Referencing is frequently unclear, and the transition between sentences is abrupt, which hinders the flow of information. The lack of clear signposting makes it difficult to distinguish between the different categories of fast-food consumption. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying heavily on basic structures. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word-choice errors, such as 'data has been calibarted' (likely meant 'calibrated' or 'presented') and 'every day people was fell'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe trends with precision; for instance, using 'was rose' instead of 'rose' or 'increased'. To achieve a higher band, you should work on using more precise verbs and nouns to describe statistical changes, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'a significant proportion'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people was fell'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Sentence structures are largely simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'once a week was rose in 2006 and in 2003 or 2013 was eating at fast food percentage of people 30% up'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misplaced periods and commas. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would help improve your accuracy.
