Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to summarise the data but fails to provide a complete overview. The description is fragmented and incomplete, as the text stops abruptly after mentioning 2006. While some data points are cited, the lack of a clear structure and the failure to cover the full period (2003–2013) significantly hinders the task completion. The overview is weak and does not effectively highlight the main trends or significant comparisons. To improve, ensure all years are addressed and that the summary provides a coherent synthesis of the data rather than just listing isolated figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The response lacks logical progression and clear paragraphing. The sentences are often disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the analysis. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas, and the transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt. The text ends mid-sentence, which disrupts the overall flow. To improve, use linking words such as 'furthermore', 'in contrast', or 'consequently' to connect sentences and ensure each paragraph has a clear focus, such as grouping data by trends rather than just listing years.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on the same phrases like 'higher side' or 'lower side'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'fast food eating proportion' and 'every day eaters are lower side'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the information with precision. To improve, focus on using more academic terminology such as 'consumption', 'frequency', 'proportion', and 'significant', and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every day eaters is'), incorrect preposition usage, and fragmented sentence structures. The attempt at complex sentences is limited and often results in errors that obscure the intended meaning. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with a lack of full stops to separate distinct ideas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and using punctuation to clearly delineate separate thoughts.
