Student answer (Band 6.0)
The following bar chart demonstrates the information about the demand of fast food restaurants in the USA in time period between 2003 and 2013.
Overall, it is evident that the percentage of individuals was the highest of those who visited the fast food restaurants once a week whereas, the proportion of natives of USA was the least who visited restaurants every day or never.
In detail, after analyzing the given bar chart it is crystal clear that the percentage of people who consumed fast food on regular basis or not atleast once was identical and was the lowest, which was even less than 5% in time period of 10 years, from 2003 to 2013.
To continue with the information, the percentage of individuals visiting restaurants several times a week showed fluctuations in period of ten years, it was 17% in 2003 and inclined to 20% in 2006 subsequently, in 2013 it declined again to 16%. The proportion of people who visited fast food restaurants once a week was 30%, 33%, and 28% in 2003, 2006 and 2013 respectively.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the chart, identifying the most and least frequent categories. However, the analysis is incomplete. You have omitted the data for 'once a month' and 'a few times a year', which are significant parts of the dataset. Furthermore, the description of the 'never' and 'every day' categories as 'identical' is slightly inaccurate based on the visual data, and the overview could be more precise by highlighting the overall trends rather than just stating the highest and lowest points. To improve, ensure all categories are represented and trends are described with greater analytical depth.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall', 'In detail', and 'To continue with', although some of these transitions feel a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the connection between the overview and the body paragraphs could be smoother. Referencing is mostly clear, though the phrasing 'the proportion of natives of USA' is slightly awkward. Overall, the structure is functional and supports the task requirements.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'fluctuations', 'inclined', and 'respectively'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'demand of fast food restaurants' is unnatural; 'frequency of fast food consumption' would be more precise. Additionally, 'not atleast once' is confusing and grammatically awkward. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing like 'the percentage of individuals' and 'the proportion of people'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors. For instance, 'the percentage of individuals was the highest of those who visited' is clunky. You also have issues with article usage and prepositional phrases, such as 'in time period of 10 years' (should be 'in the ten-year period'). There are also some punctuation errors, such as the comma splice in the second paragraph. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures will help improve this score.
