Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response provides a summary of the main features, but the analysis is inconsistent and lacks clarity. While you identify the highest and lowest categories, the description of the data is often confusing. For instance, the statement 'percentage declined sharply to the individuals who never like to dine out' is unclear and does not accurately reflect the chart. Furthermore, the data points mentioned (e.g., '34%') are not clearly linked to the specific categories or years, making it difficult for the reader to follow the trends. To improve, ensure you clearly state which category corresponds to which percentage and avoid vague descriptions of trends.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The introduction is cluttered with information that should be in the body paragraphs, and the transition between years is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'by the passing a decade it comes to the 2013'. The referencing is also unclear at times, making it difficult to track which group is being discussed. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'loves to go out' or 'set to the 33%'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'significant less individual' instead of 'significantly fewer individuals' and 'multiple times of years' instead of 'various years'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the presence of errors in word formation prevent a higher score. Expanding your range of descriptive verbs and adverbs related to data (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'peaked') would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('The bar graph illustrate'), missing articles ('on y-axis'), and incorrect sentence structure ('the percentage of people is give'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing spaces after commas. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for small errors like missing articles and prepositions.
