The chart below shows how frequently people in the USA ate in fast food restaurants between 2003 and 2013.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The given bar graph illustrates the information regarding the frequency of eating at junk food restaurants among people in the USA from 2003 to 2013.

Overall, it is evident that a significant proportion of Americans ate at fast food reaturants in once a week and once or twice a month througout the given time period.

At first glance, it is apparent that the least percentage of people visted fast food restaurant for eating everyday in the given time period, which accounted for nearly five percent. Surprisingly, the same figure can be noticed who never ate at junk food restaurants, that is, 5%.

However, in 2006, nearly 33% of people went to junk food restaurants once a week whos figure was same in 2013 who went once or twice a month.

Moving towards rest of the information, it is clearly seen that in the initial year, the percentage of people who ate rarely in a year was 12%. Whereas, in the next years the similar percentage of people ate at fast food reataurants, who stood at 15%.Eventhough, 20% of people visited at reastaurant in 2006, the figure was almost same in 2003 and 2013, which amounted to 15%.

The overall arrangement demonstrates a logical structure, but mechanical and faulty cohesion prevent it from reaching a higher band. This performance corresponds well to Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
