Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response successfully covers all parts of the task by reporting the main features and making relevant comparisons across the three years given in the chart. You have selected key data points, such as the highest and lowest frequencies of eating fast food, and attempted to track changes over time. However, some ideas are under-developed or contain inaccuracies in data reporting. For instance, you mention "in 2009 17% individuals ate fast food", whereas the chart clearly references 2006 rather than 2009, and your figures for certain trends require more careful checking against the visual data. To reach a higher level, ensure that all data points are cited accurately from the source chart and that comparisons are fully articulated without minor factual discrepancies.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your essay has a coherent overall arrangement, and you have made a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs detailing specific data. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. Phrases used to introduce details, such as "Looking at the bar graph in more details, first of all" and "Moreover", feel a bit clunky, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in sentences like "The people who eat fast food once a week the proportion of those population were...", where sentence subjects dangle awkwardly. Paragraphing is present, but internal logical progression within paragraphs needs to be smoother. To improve, work on using cohesive devices more naturally and ensuring that your sentence subjects link seamlessly to your verbs.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and descriptive verbs such as "proportion", "maximum", "minimum", "inclined", and "declined". However, there are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors that prevent a higher score, such as writing "people ate fast food a few time year" instead of "a few times a year", and using "inclined" or "declined by 4% percent" where standard statistical terms like "increased" or "rose" would be more appropriate. Spelling and word formation are generally clear enough not to impede communication, but expanding your repertoire of precise lexical items for data description will help you achieve greater precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but it is hindered by frequent grammatical errors. There are issues with subject-verb agreement and clause structures, such as "The graph compares the proportion of people ate fast food", where a relative pronoun is missing, and "The people who eat fast food once a week the proportion of those population were...", which features a double subject error and plural-singular mismatch. Prepositional use and article supply also show recurring errors, for example, saying "in usa" instead of "in the USA". While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to keep the writing at this level. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence architecture and ensuring verbs agree correctly with their true subjects.
