Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar illustrates the packed food habits among the people in the region of usa between 2003 and 2013
Majority of people use to eat fast food two meals in every month in 2013 where same pattern has been noticed in 2006. The most eye catching feature is that in 2003 people consumed less restraunt food as comparison to other years . The eating habits were healthier in the past years but after passing years consumption were raised year by year .
furthermore, 2006 and 2013 people had 15 % outside food almost same data has been seen . But 2003 the percentage was less . In the period of 2003 to 2013 people use to had unhealthy food about 15 to 20 %
To conclude, most of people have healthy eating habits and then it was changed year by year majority of people go to easy way to get food rather than hardwork .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response identifies the broad topic and attempts to describe changes over time, but it only partially reports the chart’s main information. The claim that people ate fast food “two meals in every month” in 2013 is not a clear or accurate description of the category “once or twice a month,” and the assertion that consumption “raised year by year” conflicts with the data: weekly eating peaked in 2006 and then fell, while monthly eating rose by 2013. The statement that 2003 had less restaurant food than the other years is also too general and overlooks the category-by-category differences. To improve, give a clear overview of the main pattern and support it with accurate comparisons, such as the shift from weekly eating being most common in 2003 and 2006 to monthly eating in 2013.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: an opening, two body paragraphs, and a concluding statement, and “furthermore” signals an attempt to connect ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the response moves between broad claims about health, specific years, and vague references such as “same pattern” without explaining which chart categories are being compared. The conclusion introduces a general claim about people choosing convenience over hard work rather than summarising the chart. Paragraphing helps separate parts of the response, but links between sentences are often unclear or mechanical. A stronger structure would present an overview first, then group the main comparisons by frequency—for example, weekly versus monthly visits—and use precise references to the years and categories.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some relevant topic vocabulary, including “percentage,” “consumed,” and “eating habits,” but the range is limited and several word choices make the meaning unclear. “Packed food habits” does not describe the chart naturally, while “outside food” and “restaurant food” are imprecise substitutes for fast-food restaurant visits. Phrases such as “two meals in every month” and “easy way to get food” also do not accurately express the chart’s frequency categories. Spelling errors in “restraunt” and inconsistent capitalisation of “USA” further reduce control. Build a more precise vocabulary set around frequency and change, such as “once or twice a month,” “weekly visits,” “accounted for,” and “declined,” and use these terms consistently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and longer sentence forms, but control is uneven, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. For example, “Majority of people use to eat” has an incorrect verb form and is missing an article; “where same pattern has been noticed” lacks a clear grammatical subject and reference. In “people use to had unhealthy food,” the verb pattern is incorrect, and “consumption were raised” has an agreement error. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, including the opening sentence’s lack of a full stop. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and straightforward comparison structures, such as “In 2006, one-third ate fast food once a week, compared with 28% in 2013.”
