Student answer (Band 5.0)
The bar chart indicates how often people in the United States of America
eat fast food in resturants between the yaer 2003 and 2013.
However, the first bar of the chart is indicating the frequency of eating fast food every day in 2003,2006,2013.In 2003,every day percentage of eating fast food in resturants by people are approximately lesser than (5%).In 2006 and 2013,the percentage of eating the fast food is comparatively lower than in the year 2003 that we have mentioned before.
The second and third bars of the chart are describing the frequency of eating fast food (several times a week )and (once a week) in resturants in three years([redacted phone],2013).The percentage of the people eating fast food in 2003 is approximately above (15%) .In 2006 the percentage of people exposed to fast food is (20%) .In 2013 the percentage is lesser than in 2003.All these percentages are describing the frequency of people exposed to fast food several times a week. For the frequency of people eating fast food once a week is greater in the all over chart .In 2003 the percentage is above(30%),in 2006 the percentage is approximately (33.5%) and in 2013 the percentage is lesser than (30%).
Moreover, the reamining bars of the chart are describing the same frequency and the percentage of the people eating the fast food in resturants .People who eat fast food once or twice a week have greater percentage upto (33.5%) respectively in 2013 rather than 2003 and 2006 which are lesser and equal to (30%).Those who eat a few times a week have frequency percentage upto (15%).and those who never eat fast food is (5%) in almost all years.
To sum up,people should not exposed or eat fast food in the excessive amount because it can be harmful for our life and it causes many diseases which disturbs our physical health.So.people in USA must avoid a lot of exposure to fast food in different kinds of resturant.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the chart’s subject and report several relevant figures, including the roughly 20% who ate fast food several times a week in 2006 and the peak of about 33% for weekly eating in that year. However, the response only partially selects and summarises the main features: it lacks a clear overview of the overall pattern, and some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear. For example, monthly eating reached about 33% in 2013, not 33.5% for “once or twice a week”; the chart category is once or twice a month. The claim that this group was equal to about 30% in 2003 and 2006 is also inaccurate, as the 2006 figure is about 25%. The final advice about avoiding fast food is not part of the chart summary. Focus on accurate trends and comparisons rather than recommendations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response is divided into paragraphs and uses basic sequencing signals such as “Moreover” and “To sum up,” so the reader can see an attempt to organise the information. However, progression is uneven: the first paragraph introduces the chart, while later paragraphs move through categories without a clear overview or consistent grouping. Phrases such as “the first bar” and “the second and third bars” are not always helpful because the chart contains three year-series across each eating-frequency category. Repetition of “the percentage” and “frequency” also makes the account feel list-like, and the concluding health advice interrupts the report’s focus. Group the main trends into a clear overview and two comparison paragraphs, using references that identify the categories and years precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “frequency,” “percentage,” and “approximately,” and the meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the data harder to interpret. For instance, “people exposed to fast food” does not naturally describe how often people eat it, and “frequency percentage” is awkward. “Greater in the all over chart” is also unclear, while “resturants” and “yaer” show spelling errors. Repeated use of “percentage” and “eating fast food” limits flexibility. Use precise chart language such as “the proportion of people who ate out” and “accounted for,” and check spelling and category wording carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example, “Those who eat a few times a week have frequency percentage…” and “people should not exposed or eat fast food…”. However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries recur. Examples include “people are approximately lesser,” “people should not exposed,” and “which disturbs our physical health.” Commas are frequently missing after introductory phrases, and full stops are sometimes placed awkwardly, as in “(15%).and”. These problems can make relationships between figures difficult to follow. Build accuracy first with clear comparative sentences, then add controlled complex structures, checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and punctuation.
