Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the chart’s subject and report several relevant figures, including the weekly figures of 31%, 33% and 28%, and the monthly peak of 33% in 2013. However, the overview is unclear and includes an unsupported claim that most people went only once a year; the chart’s largest groups are those eating once a week or once or twice a month. Some details are also inaccurate or confusing: “in 2003 it decline 2%” does not clearly describe the 12.5% figure for a few times a year, and the daily figures are not explained accurately. Focus the overview on the shift from weekly eating to monthly eating, then compare the main categories and report their values precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has separate paragraphs and attempts to group frequent eating patterns before less frequent ones, so there is some basic organisation. However, the progression is difficult to follow because several sentences combine figures with unclear commentary. For example, “Moreover, Several times a weeks…” and “On the other hand, the Every day…” do not establish clear relationships between the categories. Linking words such as “nevertheless,” “hence” and “subsequently” are sometimes used mechanically or do not express the intended connection. Use one paragraph for the overview and organise the details into clear comparisons, with each sentence focused on one category or trend. This would make the information easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “rose,” “decline,” “stable” and “peak,” and the reader can recognise that you are describing changes in frequency. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear. Phrases such as “the layout of how frequently,” “went more in restaurants and hotels,” and “the fast food more useing” are not natural ways to describe the chart. There are also spelling errors, including “resturants,” “quartor,” “perffering” and “sudenly.” Choose precise chart language such as “the proportion of people,” “ate fast food,” and “increased to,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the response generally signals the years and categories being compared. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in tense, sentence structure, articles and agreement can make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “the residents once a week they went more” has an unclear structure, while “in 2013 it will be drop” uses an incorrect future form for past chart data. The sentence beginning “On the other hand, the Every day eating…” is also incomplete or poorly connected. Use past simple consistently for the historical data, and build shorter, complete sentences before adding clauses with “while” or “whereas.”
