Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, public transport is a pressing issue all over the globe because it plays a pivotal role in the social life. Some people believe that it should be fundamental for the government to spend more finances on building the new railway tracks for bullet trains. Meanwhile, others argue that money should be spend for the maintainance of previous public transport. I think that spending money for railway lines is far more beneficial.
First of all, it is widely acknowledged that in many countries of the world, trains are considered to be the major means and the cheapest source of transport. If government pays more attention on constructing new railway lines and stations, then it may be beneficial for many unemployeed workers because they can earn their living by working at the construction sites. Moreover, it also effects the countries economy. For instance, most of the residents prefer fast trains because these trains save a large amount of time and their entry fees is also low as compare to the other means of transport. Consequently, more people buy tickets for trains and it will boosted the country's economy to the higher level.
On the other hand, releasing more budget for improving the existing public transport also has a positive impact on the society. What I mean is that travellers face struggle for finding the local buses. Not enough general bus station are available at the present time. There is a scarcity of local transport. If government takes some precautions, then this pervasive issue will tackle and people can live a peaceful life.
In conclusion, although it is considered to spend more money for improving the previous conditions of public transport because many citizens faces hurdles and obstacles for moving from one place to another. Personally, I believe that spending money on constructing new tracks for fast trains has more advantages with regard of saving time or improving the financial condition of many unemployeed people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for new railway lines, particularly in the introduction and conclusion. The points about employment, travel time and the economy are relevant, while the opposing view identifies difficulties finding local buses and a shortage of local transport. However, the two positions are not developed equally: the case for high-speed rail receives more explanation, whereas the benefits of improving existing services are asserted rather than illustrated. The economic claim that ticket sales will raise the country’s economy also needs a clearer explanation or a specific example. To strengthen the response, explain how each investment would benefit different groups and support the comparison with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “First of all,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, some links are mechanical or the reasoning moves too quickly. For example, the paragraph on railways shifts from construction jobs to ticket prices and then to the national economy without fully showing how these points connect. In the public-transport paragraph, “If government takes some precautions” does not clearly refer to a specific action. Use more precise references and develop each paragraph around a clear sequence of claim, explanation and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “railway lines,” “construction sites,” “scarcity of local transport,” and “hurdles and obstacles.” Some less common expressions are attempted, but several choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “spend more finances,” “entry fees,” and “the higher level” when discussing the economy. There are also spelling errors, including “maintainance” and “unemployeed,” and “effects” is used where the verb “affects” is intended. These issues do not prevent the main ideas from being understood, but they reduce precision. Aim for natural transport and economic collocations, and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If government pays more attention… then it may be beneficial” and a concession in the conclusion. The overall meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “money should be spend” instead of “should be spent,” “it will boosted” instead of “it will boost,” and “many citizens faces” instead of “many citizens face.” There are also issues with articles and number agreement in “Not enough general bus station are available.” Review passive verb forms, subject–verb agreement, and singular/plural forms. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to read.
