Student answer (Band 6.0)

In several nations, some citizens argue that spending huge amount of money is an obligation to build new railway lines for too fast trains among cities, while others believe the funds should go to existing public transport. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why i believe it is necessary to work mote on the public transportation for what it can be so beneficial for the locals.

To begin with, the reason why some people strongly believe that spending money on railway lines is that fast trains could solve problems of long distances and that could be a main problem especially for people who specialise in commerce so they can bring their merchandises on these trains. Additionally, fast trains can bring a significant income to the country through visitors who would find it easy to travel through this transportations, the country will be full of passengers and visitors and economically speaking that a huge development. For example, France has a fast trains called TGV , very rapid and its been so important and made it so easy for the French people to travel from all over the country without any calculations of the time or distance and people from all over Europe nowadays go to France to try it.

On the other hand, other categories of people consider funding on the present public transport and prioritising it should be an option to make it easy for the locals, because people are using those transportation regularly and everyday while going to work or to do other activities so they feels that their right to use a mire developed public transportation is an obligation. For example, recently in Algeria the government enhanced the buses and got red of the old buses and replaced with new ones with lot of features so that the citizen feel comfortable moving around.

To conclude, although people find unnecessary to spend money on public transportation, i firmly believe it us an obligation and priority to look after the local people and watch for their convenience with providing a reasonable and developed public transportation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for improving public transport for local people. The examples of France’s TGV and newer buses in Algeria make the response relevant, and the conclusion returns to your position. However, the two views are not developed equally: the case for high-speed rail is supported by claims about commerce and visitors, but the link between passenger travel and transporting merchandise is unclear, and the economic benefit is asserted rather than explained. The public-transport argument is more directly connected to everyday needs, though it could explain more specifically how upgrades benefit a wider range of users. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and a precise example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, some ideas run together, particularly the sentence about visitors, passengers, and economic development, where the relationship between points is not clearly controlled. The opening sentence of the second body paragraph also repeats the idea of prioritising existing transport before explaining why. Use clearer topic sentences and divide long chains of related claims into more manageable sentences. More precise referencing would also help readers track what “this transportations” and “it” refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “railway lines,” “public transport,” “commerce,” “significant income,” and “prioritising,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “economically speaking” and “convenience.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “too fast trains,” “among cities,” “a huge development,” and “a mire developed public transportation.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “categories of people” and “all over the country without any calculations of the time or distance.” Aim for natural collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your arguments more precise without requiring more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “while,” “because,” and “although,” and the overall meaning is usually clear. Some sentences are controlled, such as the explanation that people use public transport regularly for work and other activities. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries remain. For example, “they feels” should be “they feel,” “it us an obligation” should be “it is an obligation,” and the sentence beginning “Additionally, fast trains…” joins separate clauses with a comma. Capitalisation of “I” is also inconsistent. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and break long sentences into complete clauses with appropriate punctuation. This would improve accuracy while preserving your attempts at complex structures.
