Student answer (Band 6.0)
There has been debate about whether the money should be spend on railways or should be invested on remaining public transport . They both have own importance which will be discussed below.
Firstly, from my opinion I think that when government gives money to increase the railways track it would be very beneficial for the local people to do job from their local areas. They don't need to move on new cities by living families behind. Every people feel easy to get . If the transportation developed well in country and in every areas the most part of the nation will be constructed. People will envy the government and help the local resources to transport on various places.
For instance, travelling on bullet trains people can go to the another part of the country to secure their jobs and having no worries about the home.
Secondly, If money spend on public transportation there will be chances of increasing people awareness and less use of private vehicles which play crucial role on reduction of pollution . Nevertheless, there must be good construction of roads. And need skilled human resource to maintain it. For example if a person having less skills of driving can cause a lot of people suffering. Everything has its own merits and demerits increasing public transportation can replace the private vehicles which helps in less traffic and rushes of people.
In conclusion, i have no grudge with both of them. I supports that both plays vital role for the development of nation and really useful to provide employment to people .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, satisfying the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the argument regarding bullet trains is underdeveloped, and the points about public transport are slightly disjointed. The conclusion is brief and lacks a clear summary of the main points discussed. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more specific, well-supported examples and ensure that your position is clearly articulated and consistently maintained throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Firstly, from my opinion' and 'In conclusion, i have no grudge' are not standard academic transitions. Additionally, the logical progression between sentences is sometimes weak; for instance, the transition from discussing bullet trains to the maintenance of roads feels abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') would significantly enhance the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'do job from their local areas', 'move on new cities', and 'rushes of people'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To improve, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on simple, everyday language. Expanding your range of synonyms will also help you avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'both plays vital role'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'If money spend' instead of 'If money is spent'). While these errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to be distracting. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb tenses and pluralization, and practice constructing more complex sentences with correct punctuation.
