Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the need for fast trains to reduce crowds and the alternative of investing in healthcare and education, these points are not fully extended with sophisticated reasoning or specific, well-integrated examples. The conclusion is present but lacks a clear, decisive summary of your final stance. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph provides a deeper analysis of the implications of each choice rather than just stating the benefits or drawbacks.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For instance, the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. There are also issues with punctuation and sentence structure that occasionally disrupt the flow of information. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'when we already have transporting vessels', which is an awkward way to refer to existing public transport. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring clear logical progression between sentences would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'urban time' instead of 'modern times', 'man commucating people' (likely meaning commuters), and 'nation's treasure' instead of 'public funds'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'geting', 'peroid', 'scaresity', and 'commucating'. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to infrastructure and public policy, and proofread carefully to eliminate basic spelling mistakes that detract from your overall performance.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('there are many area', 'which has number of children') and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing spaces after periods. These errors occur frequently throughout the text. To improve, you should practice using a wider variety of complex structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, while ensuring that basic grammatical rules regarding plurals and articles are applied consistently.
