Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is ongoing debate that some people believe that government should spend more money on built new railway line for express train between two cities while, others think they have to spend money to improved currently available of public transportation. In this essay, I will discuss both approaches before representing my personal standpoint with suitable examples.
To commence with first notion, individuals think authorities should spend large sums of money on constructing new railway lines for fast train as it is beneficial to save times for those people who are travelling every day for work. In simple words, many people are live in cities and they have to travel to countryside area for job as all factories are at out of cities. Therefore, people can save their time through fastest train service.
In stark contrast, people think that it is essential to spend income on existing transport facility instead of making new railway lines. Here and now, in some area it is hard to find any vehicles hence, they should increase the number of transportation, after fostering the number of vehicles it is assist to overcome the hurdles of delay .
Having discussed both perspectives, I would like to infer that government should have to spend money to improve existed public transportation amenities as due to lack of transport facility people are not able to peak bus or other vehicles on time thus, they can not reach at their destination on time. To exemplify, as per survey 85% of public transportation is improved in Japan so, person can enjoyed their journey in public transportation.
To conclude, although, authorities must spend on money on constructing new railway lines for time saving, they have to shown more concern into improving existing public transport vehicles for frequency and convenience.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument for high-speed trains is restricted to commuting time, and the argument for existing transport is slightly repetitive. While the prompt is addressed, the supporting points lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The mention of Japan is a good attempt at an example, but it is not fully integrated into the argument to show how it supports the preference for existing infrastructure. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments with more detailed reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'In stark contrast', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Here and now' or 'after fostering the number of vehicles'. Additionally, the flow between sentences is occasionally hindered by grammatical errors, making the progression of ideas feel a bit disjointed in places. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will help the essay read more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'built new railway line' instead of 'building new railway lines', 'improved currently available of public transportation' instead of 'improving existing public transport', and 'peak bus' instead of 'catch a bus'. These errors occasionally cause the reader to pause. To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring that the word forms you use (nouns, verbs, adjectives) are grammatically correct in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('many people are live'), article usage ('at out of cities'), and incorrect verb forms ('they have to shown'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impede the flow of the text. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs are correctly conjugated and that prepositions and articles are used accurately.
