Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you identify both sides of the argument, the discussion is underdeveloped and the essay ends abruptly mid-sentence. Your position is mentioned but lacks the depth required for a higher band score. To improve, ensure you fully explore each viewpoint with specific examples and maintain a consistent, clear opinion throughout. The current length prevents you from providing a balanced, well-supported argument, which is essential for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the logical progression is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with' and 'Moreover', but they are sometimes used mechanically or in ways that do not effectively link the ideas. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the lack of a conclusion makes the overall structure feel unfinished. Focusing on creating clear topic sentences and ensuring each paragraph flows logically into the next will help improve your score in this area.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing, such as 'get fast' or 'big deal', which are not suitable for an academic essay. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the amount money is not a big deal'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise collocations. Avoid informal expressions and focus on using words that accurately convey your intended meaning in a formal context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('some people argues', 'the number of vehicles are increased') and incorrect verb forms ('the money should used'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty or incomplete. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization after commas. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring subject-verb agreement. Proofreading for common errors like these will significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
