Student answer (Band 6.5)
IN RECENT TIME, IN A NUMBER OF COUNTRIES, MANY PEOPLE SAY THAT IT IS REQUIRED TO SPEND TOO MUCH MONEY ON CONSTRUCTING NEW RAILWAY LINES FOR FAST TRANSPOTATION. WHILE OTHER THINK THAT THE MONEY SHOULD SPENT ON IMPROVING CURRANT EXISTING PUBLIC TRANSPORT. MEANWHILE, NOT ONLY BOTH VIEWS BUT ALSO MY OPINION WILL BE EXPLAINED IN THE ENSUING PARAGRAPHS, ALONG WITH EXAMPLES.
DISCUSSING THE FORAMAL OPINION, THE FORMOST ARGUMENT THE SUPPOTERS WOULD PUT FORWARD IS SPEND A LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY ON RAILWAY NETWORK IS MANDATORY. TO JUSTIFY IT FURTHER, RAILWAY IS BEST AND MOST COST EFFECTIVE WAY OF MASS TRANSFOMATION. WHILE IT IS TRUE THAT BUILD A STRONG RAILWAY NETWORK NEED STRONG AND HIGH FINANCE AND LAND BUT ALSO RAILWAY IS BEST AND FAST WAY TO TRAVEL BETWEEN TWO CITIES. FOR INSTANCE, COUNTRIES HAVE LARGE POPULATION NEED TO TRAVEL DAILY THE RAILWAY NETWORK IS BEST WAY FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT. ONE PROMINENT EXAMPLE IS INDIAN RAILWAY NETWORK WHO CONTAIN TOTAL 4 ZONES, WITH THE HELP OF THE INDIAN RAILWAY THERE ARE 20 TO 25 MILLION PEOPLE DAILY TRAVEL BEACUSE IT IS CONT EFFECTIVE COMPARE TO AIR TRANSPORT AND FAST COMPARE TO BUSES AND ROAD TRANSPORT. ALSO RAILWAY REDUCE THE ROAD TRAFFIC IN METRO CITIES LIKE MUMBAI, PARIS AND TOKYO.
HOWEVER, THE LATTER VIEW HAS ITS OWN CLAIM. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT ARGUMENT IS MONEY SHOULD BE SPENT ON IMPROVING EXISTING PUBLIC TRANSPORT. TO BE MORE SPECIFIC, PUBLIC TRANSPORT LIKE BUSES, TAXIES AND CITY BUS IN BIG CITIES ARE ASLO THE BEST WAY TO TRAVEL AND ALSO THIS FORM OF TRANSPORTAION IS ALSO COST EFFECTIVE AND ENVIRONMENT FREINDLLY COMPARE TO OTHER OPTIONS. WHILE IT IS TRUE THAT EXISTING TRANSPORTATION REACH THE LIMIT ONE TIME. FOR EXAMPLE, METRO NETWORK LIITED TO CITY AREA AND BUS AND ROAD TRANSPORTATION TAKE TOO MUCH TIME IN LONG DISTANCE.
IN CONCLUSION, THERE IS EQUALLY POTENTIAL EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THE ARGUMENT I HAVE PROVIDED, HENCE IN MY OPINION SPEND LARG AMOUNT OF MONEY ON RAILWAY IS WORTH IT BUT THE EXISTING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ALSO NEED IMPROVEMENT AND REDEVELOPMENT. HENCE, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH STATEMENT ABOUT THE RAILWAY TRANSPORTATION.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the Indian railway system as an example, the explanation of why existing public transport needs improvement is less developed and relies on general statements. To reach a higher band, ensure that each argument is supported by more detailed reasoning or specific evidence. The position is consistent throughout, but the conclusion could be more nuanced by explicitly stating how the two ideas can be balanced rather than just agreeing with the railway statement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'For instance', 'However', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the flow between the railway argument and the example is slightly disjointed. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words will enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'TRANSPOTATION', 'CURRANT', 'FORAMAL', 'SUPPOTERS', 'TRANSFOMATION', 'BEACUSE', 'CONT', 'LIITED'). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'mass transformation' (likely meaning mass transportation) and 'environment friendly', the word choice is sometimes imprecise or incorrect. You need to focus on accurate spelling and using words in their correct collocations to improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'railway network need'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'money should spent'). Some sentences are poorly constructed, which occasionally makes the meaning difficult to grasp. While you attempt complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb tenses and sentence structure, before attempting more complex forms.
