Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding business growth is mentioned but lacks specific, well-explained examples. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesize the points discussed. While the task is addressed, the supporting arguments often rely on generalizations rather than deep analysis, which limits the depth of the response. To improve, you should expand on your points with more concrete evidence or logical chains of reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In the prime one' and 'To clarify it' are used in ways that do not sound natural. Additionally, there are issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the fragmented sentence 'While others believe the money should be spent on other public transport is more beneficial.' Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'pensive concern' (likely meant 'pressing concern') and 'delicates' (meant 'delineates'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and the use of 'multifarious' feels forced rather than natural. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations correctly and expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary, ensuring that words are used in their appropriate context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('public transport become', 'Their are apparent reason') and incorrect verb forms ('spend large amount', 'help in to save'). Punctuation is also problematic, with many sentences containing unnecessary commas or being incorrectly split into fragments. While you attempt some complex structures, the high frequency of errors often makes the reader work harder to understand the intended meaning. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement is essential.
