Student answer (Band 5.0)
people could think according to their ability. As given in question line is, in a country many people think they should spend their money on new and fastest public transport and many people think from their community is they should spend their money on their old public transport.
Old public transport is best from a way because when people should spend their money on them when people get a minimum cost to repair them but when they should spend their money on improve the new railway lines to improve and change the oldest and slower speed system into a fastest speed system then they should spend their maximum money to improve the railway lines for fastest train system between cities.
In my opinion both are best for that country because never a country will pause their public transport system because when a country will pause their public transport system then their people how can travel for work? Then the most iconic solution is the country will start the fastest railway line for trains to connect the cities but never pause the old railway line system because the revolution is best for a country because time demands revolution. So the revolution is best but for the revolution to continue the old railway line system.
However, old and new both railway line system are best to connect to cities but firstly continue the old railway line system and spend money to improve it. when the improvement of old railway line system being improve then construct the new railway line for faster trains.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, which is a requirement of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments regarding the cost-effectiveness of maintaining old systems versus the necessity of innovation are mentioned but not explored with specific examples or logical depth. The position is somewhat unclear due to the circular nature of the reasoning, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, you should focus on providing concrete reasons and specific examples to support your claims rather than repeating the same general points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'when' and 'then' to connect clauses. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of the argument. The transition between the two viewpoints and your own opinion is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') would help create a more cohesive and professional structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and often repetitive, with words like 'money', 'public transport', and 'system' appearing frequently. There are instances of awkward word choices, such as 'never a country will pause their public transport system' and 'the revolution is best'. The lack of variety in vocabulary and the reliance on basic phrasing hinder the ability to express complex ideas precisely. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary and synonyms to avoid repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and sentence structure (e.g., 'when the improvement of old railway line system being improve'). Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, and the use of articles and prepositions is often incorrect. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are frequently faulty. Focusing on basic sentence construction and ensuring subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the clarity and accuracy of your writing.
