Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views, but the development is limited and often unclear. While you mention the importance of new railway lines and the benefits of public transport, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. The position is somewhat unclear, as the conclusion does not explicitly state your own opinion, which is a requirement of the task. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and provides a well-developed explanation or example to support your point of view. The ideas are currently presented in a fragmented way, making it difficult for the reader to follow your reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical flow between and within paragraphs is weak. You use basic linking words like 'First of all' and 'Second of all', but the connections between sentences are often disjointed. For example, the transition from discussing railway lines to the importance of food transport is abrupt. Additionally, the use of referencing is confusing; the frequent use of 'your' when referring to the government or the public makes the text difficult to follow. Improving the use of cohesive devices and ensuring clear paragraph structure will significantly enhance the readability of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely on basic words like 'important', 'things', and 'money' throughout the essay. There are also frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'sum of countries' instead of 'some countries' and 'food transport' instead of 'transporting goods'. The phrasing 'electric machine' is also imprecise. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary related to transport and infrastructure, such as 'high-speed rail networks', 'urban mobility', or 'sustainable transport solutions', and ensure that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The government spend'), incorrect pronoun usage ('He use for the daily transport'), and missing articles. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical structures. Many sentences are fragmented or contain awkward phrasing, such as 'But one think about the public transport system for the public health do not use the fossils fuels'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions before attempting more complex structures.
