Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. For example, the arguments for high-speed rail are repetitive, focusing mainly on speed and time-saving without exploring broader economic or environmental impacts. Similarly, the section on public transport is underdeveloped, lacking specific examples or logical depth. The introduction is somewhat confusing due to awkward phrasing, which obscures the initial presentation of the topic. To improve, you should aim to expand your points with more specific evidence or logical reasoning rather than repeating the same concepts in different words.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'The reason to be that first and foremost is that fast transportation'. Referencing is also unclear at times, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of arguments. The transition between the two viewpoints is abrupt. To achieve a higher band, you should use a wider variety of linking words more naturally and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that logically connects to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'money', 'facilities', and 'transport'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'cannot stuck in the traffic jam' and 'faster increasing day by day'. Some phrases are non-standard, which occasionally impedes the clarity of your message. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to urban planning and transportation, and try to use a broader range of synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect readability. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('Other believe', 'Individual go'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack necessary components, such as 'In modern world, total number of nation most individuals here believe...'. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors like pluralisation and verb tense consistency.
