Student answer (Band 5.0)
In a number of countries, some people think it is necessary to spend large sums of money on constructing new railway lines every fast trains between cities but others believe the money should be spent on improving existing public transport.
As we know that the population all over the globe is rapidly increasing due to this reason the number of personal vehicles is also increasing.
The increment in the ratio of vehicles it's may cause some several issues on roads like addition in the road accidents and traffic jam. So it badly effects the people's daily routine. In my point of view the large sums should be spend on the railway tracks because it's very cheap way of transport and also a good strategy to give relief to public.
Because if we spend the large amount of budget on public transport it's not a good deal and not to be satisfactory. So if the trains become fast it's such a great developement in the country's transport and will play very important role in the economy of country in future.
If we look at the developed countries they make progress in their economy by make better their transportation because they give importance to their country and work for their country developement. Many countries introduced trams and buses as alternative to fast trains in the means of transport. People use to travel via buses to their workplaces or to their institutions.
In my opinion, spending a moderate budget in improving the tracks for railways is better but improving the means of transport shall be more beneficial as people in remote areas do not have stations in their towns. Even today they travel by buses.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both constructing new railway lines for very fast trains and improving existing public transport, and it presents a position. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes repetitive. For example, the argument that fast trains are a good strategy to give relief to the public is stated without sufficient elaboration or concrete examples. Furthermore, the final paragraph somewhat contradicts the initial position, shifting between supporting railways and improving general transport modes. Because the ideas are under-developed and lack extended support, this performance aligns best with Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organization, but there is a lack of clear progression, and the transitions between paragraphs can be disjointed. Paragraphing is attempted, but sentences within paragraphs do not flow smoothly. For instance, the transition from discussing road traffic congestion to the financial aspects of public transport feels abrupt. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or overly mechanical, such as 'Due to this reason' and 'So it badly effects'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, creating confusion for the reader regarding the subject of certain statements. Overall, the structural flow corresponds to a Band 5 descriptor.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'population', 'transport', 'economy', and 'workplaces'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors that cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'every fast trains' instead of 'very fast trains', 'The increment in the ratio of vehicles it's may cause', and 'make better their transportation'. Spelling errors like 'developement' also appear. Because the vocabulary range is constrained and errors are frequent, a Band 5 is appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple and flawed complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. Examples include 'the large sums should be spend', 'it's not a good deal and not to be satisfactory', and 'People use to travel via buses'. Run-on sentences and missing subjects, such as 'it's may cause some several issues', further reduce grammatical control. These recurring errors frequently cause strain for the reader, placing the response firmly at Band 5.
