Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are different methodes to improve the transportation in countries. Some argue that it is important to allocate money for building new railway lines for high speed tains between cities, other contend that funds should be spend on upgrading existing public transport. I believe that, a balanced spend of money to build new railway lines and improving public transport well be the most effective strategy that will benefits all society.
Those who believe that speending money on constructing new railway lines between cities argue that it helps in transporting goods across cities. When governments allocate funds to constructe new railway lines that utilized by high speed trains, this will minimize the times that required to transport goods. For example, some type of vegetables can be grow only in the north of the UK , and need considerable time to be transported to the cities in the south in case of using cars, this obstacle can overcome only by utilizing high speed trains. As a result, geen vegetables can be consumed by people live in the south without need to travel to the north. Therefore, I suggest that spending on this sector will have a great benefit for large number of people in society.
On the other hands, those who think that spending the whole money on improving public tansport argue that this will improve convenience for citizens. When governments spend on upgrading the public tansport infrastructure such as building or extending subwayline and buses, larger percentage will gian benefit. For instance, students and employments substantially depend on public transports as a main method for commuting into the universities and the work palces, expanding the underground subwaylines will enable them to travel without need of use other means for commuting such as taxi. Subsequently, this will help tham to stay constrated on their daily tasks and reduce mental pressure that frequently associate with delay of taxi due to traffic congestions. Thereby, allocating funds on this sector also consider vital , as many people need it for everyday life.
In conclusion, governments should have a balanced spending strategy that covers both the construction of new railway between cities and improving public tansportion in the same cities. because both have considerable advantages for all members of society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on public transport spending and providing a clear personal position in favour of a balanced approach. The ideas are relevant and supported with examples, such as transporting vegetables from the north to the south of the UK and the convenience of underground subway lines for students and employees. While some arguments are slightly repetitive or could be extended with more depth, the overall task requirements are fully met, and the position is maintained clearly throughout the essay, demonstrating a strong understanding of the prompt's demands.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'On the other hands', 'For example', and 'In conclusion' are employed to guide the reader through the text, although some referencing and cohesion are occasionally clumsy, such as 'spend on upgrading the public tansport infrastructure such as building or extending subwayline and buses'. Progression is generally clear throughout, though smoother transitions between sentences would elevate the flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common terms such as 'allocate funds', 'infrastructure', and 'traffic congestions'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors, including 'methodes', 'tains', 'speending', 'constructe', 'utilized', 'geen', 'tansport', 'gian', 'employments', 'constrated', and 'tansportion'. While these errors do not impede overall communication, they reflect a lack of precision and control that prevents the score from reaching a higher band. The use of phrasing like 'balanced spend of money' could also be polished.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at varied structures such as 'When governments allocate funds to constructe new railway lines that utilized by high speed trains, this will minimize the times that required to transport goods.' However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('people live in the south', 'this also consider vital'), tense usage, missing articles, and sentence fragments (e.g. starting the conclusion with 'in the same cities. because both...'). These errors sometimes cause minor strain for the reader, though communication remains clear.
