Student answer (Band 5.5)

Transportation is the adaptation of new world, and is necessary to cope up with the current day pace, some individuals are considering to relie on expenditure for the development of new railway lines for fast trains, while others agrue that the grant money should be use for the upliftment of the existing public transport. In my opinion it is in best interest of citizen if the existing transport be modified according to public needs.

Current public transport has been a hassle for the citizens, there are set of irragular diffculties faced by them considering hygeine, Time managment, Extensive crowd pull, Unfair seating means, Taking into note, the route which in its entirety has its own flaws which are needed to be addressed, society and especially the working class relay heavily on current day transport, Perhaps addition of a new mode of transportation wont budge the pre-existing problematic ways, the availability of fast trains wont be able to cover and comprehand as much area as the regular trains do,Hence it will just be an amaze for some people while still the other citizens undergo the same issues.

Futhermore, It is a lengthy process which will consume alot manpower yet it will also achieve great lengths when it comes to reaching a point in time, it can set high parameters in time accuracy and services, also to mention it will provide a better structure and more improved stations as it is being built as a mordern day construct in compare to that of old builted train station, it can porvide fancy facilties such as ready made lunch, Network connectivity and much more

In conclusion, although it is debatable that implementation of new and fast trains can help indivduals to achieve high level of time management and regularity of servies,In my opioion it is seems that improvments in the existing transport can be of a grat help towards people already struggling, in need of a reliable and better of exisitng transport

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the construction of new high-speed rail lines and the alternative view of upgrading existing public transport. A clear position is established in the introduction, stating that improving existing transport is in the best interest of citizens, and this position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the arguments concerning the flaws of current transport and the potential benefits of high-speed trains are introduced with broad generalizations rather than fully elaborated examples. The arguments lack specific depth, resulting in a Band 6 level for task achievement where ideas are relevant but somewhat under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used, though paragraph boundaries and internal links can feel awkward due to punctuation and run-on sentences. Cohesive devices are utilized, such as 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion', but referencing and linking within sentences are frequently faulty or mechanical (e.g., 'Hence it will just be an amaze for some people while still the other citizens undergo the same issues'). Progression is sometimes hindered by overly dense sentences that lack appropriate transitional phrasing, placing the response firmly at Band 5.5 to 6.0. We award a Band 5.5 because the logical progression is frequently disrupted by cohesion errors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student attempts a range of vocabulary, including terms like 'upliftment', 'comprehand', and 'modern day construct'. However, there are notable limitations and frequent word-choice errors, such as 'cope up with' instead of 'cope with', 'relie' instead of 'rely', and 'irragular diffculties'. Spelling errors ('hygeine', 'managment', 'mordern', 'porvide') and awkward collocations ('unfair seating means') detract from the overall quality. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning, the presence of frequent lexical errors and non-standard word forms restricts the score to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical control is weak. There are frequent errors in punctuation and sentence boundary demarcation, such as comma splices ('...fast trains, while others agrue...') and run-on sentences throughout the body paragraphs. Other noticeable errors include subject-verb agreement issues and missing articles (e.g., 'it is in best interest of citizen', 'transport be modified'). Complex structures are often faulty and require effort from the reader to parse, aligning the performance with Band 5.0 descriptors.
