Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries, few people argue that it is important to invest large percentage of money on building new railways tracks for quick travels among cities using high speed trains. Whereas, on the other hand people thought money should be used for current public transports improvement. In this essay i will demonstrate both prespective with some examples from my own experience. Where, i belive money should invest equally in both the situations.

To start with, Saving more time and new routes by investing money on new railways tracks for high speed train. For example, when japan launched it's first bullet train who delivered 300km/h speed which is 3 times faster then a regular train due to this people save their huge time in longer distance. Moreover, construction new tracks give access to explore more networks. in result, some of the places don't have railways station thier people will get easily commute for works and travells.

On the other side, Investing money on existing transports will helps reduce pollution and traffic. For example, today's many people travel with thier own vechiles because of improper public transports. In result, Increasing number of vechiles on road cause air pollution and traffic.

In my opinion, I belive investing in railways provide people to saving thier time which they wasted in long distance travels also it allows them wider railway networks

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt regarding fast train networks versus improving existing transport and provides an opinion. However, the position is somewhat briefly stated and ideas are under-developed. For instance, the discussion on high-speed trains mentions Japan's bullet train but lacks thorough extension. Additionally, the word count is 226 words, which fails to meet the minimum requirement of 250 words, leading to a negative impact on the overall task achievement score. To reach a higher band, the student must expand their arguments with deeper explanations and ensure the length requirement is fully satisfied.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay displays some overall organization with paragraph breaks separating different viewpoints and the conclusion. However, progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and poor referencing, such as starting paragraphs with incomplete fragments like 'To start with, Saving more time...' and 'Where, i belive money should invest equally...'. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or mechanical, and paragraphing is poorly handled with extremely short, fragmented body paragraphs. Pronoun referencing is also unclear in places, which affects the overall logical flow of the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent word-choice errors and awkward collocations such as 'invest large percentage of money', 'quick travels', and 'transport improvements'. Spelling and morphological mistakes are present, including 'prespective', 'belive', 'vechiles', and 'thier'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility expected at higher bands, frequently resulting in unnatural phrasing that hinders smooth reading.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The text contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty or incomplete. There are multiple serious grammatical errors throughout the essay, including tense inconsistencies, missing prepositions, and incorrect verb forms such as 'money should invest equally' instead of 'money should be invested', and 'train who delivered' instead of 'train which delivered'. Punctuation and capitalization errors, such as a lowercase 'i', are also noticeable. These errors frequently strain the reader and reflect a weak command of grammar.
