Student answer (Band 5.0)
Transportation brings revolution in the world. In a lot of nations, few masses beloived that it is necessary to spend huge sums of money on making new railway lines for very fast trains. Others think the money should be spent on enhancing public transport. I will discuss both views and give my opinion in upcoming paragraphs.
To commence with, spending a huge number of wealth on train transportation gives a lot of benifits to the individuals, moreover, to the government, firstly talk about masses, people can travell by trains very comfortably, fastly, and save there a lot of time because train has there special track. Secondly, importance for goverment, parties can oimport and export basic or crucial materials from one state to another
without any risks or huge investement.
On the other hand, giving importance to the public transport can create good image of the city system and reduce the chaos on roads, investing on public buses can help employers, children, students, addition, other individuals, who can't afford a personal car for their use.
In my opinion, enhancing local or public transport can leads the improvement to the city or state development by reducing the chaos from roads, moreover, saves a lot of time of population.
In conclusion, everything has their own pros, therefore,
improving both transportation system can give seprate but crucial benifits to the public or government.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both views regarding high-speed rail and general public transport and presents an opinion. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, particularly in the supporting paragraphs where points regarding government import-export and city chaos are briefly stated rather than fully explored. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the response contains only 229 words, falling short of the 250-word minimum. This under-length impacts the overall development and completeness of the task, restricting the score according to the guidelines.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay has some basic organisation with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression, and the paragraphing is somewhat erratic, with a very short single-sentence paragraph appearing mid-text ('without any risks or huge investement.'). Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To commence with' and 'firstly talk about masses'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, leading to a choppy reading experience that aligns with Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for discussing the topic. There are frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'beloived' instead of 'believed', 'travell' with a double L, 'fastly' (which is non-standard), 'benifits', 'goverment', and 'seprate'. The writer attempts some less common terms like 'transportation brings revolution' and 'crucial materials', but noticeable inaccuracies in collocation and spelling cause some difficulty for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are major issues with run-on sentences, comma splices, and fragments, such as in the second paragraph where multiple clauses are joined improperly by commas without proper conjunctions ('people can travell by trains very comfortably, fastly, and save there a lot of time because train has there special track'). Frequent errors in punctuation and grammar are present throughout, though basic meaning can still be discerned.
