Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this modern era evry country trying to enhance their public transport system for easy travel for poor people of their country and it's all happens due to technology.

But most countries are trying to develop the railway system for their citizens like Japan,USA,England,China etc.

In addition to,lot of people in some countries think that their government should spend their lot of money by constructing new and quick speed of trains which works city to city. For example, the Japanies government has made a bollet train which speed is 220 kilometer per hour and which is a fastet traun in this world right now.The citizens of this country are very exclated with it and they use that trainwhenever they have to move from one city to another city to complete their necessary work. Moreover, the government of Pakistan is also going to introduce this train in their country and for this purpose their scientist and engineers is moving to meet with japanese engineers to get the idea of the world's fastest train. There are number of countries which also wantnto implement this feature in their own own country.

Furthermore, a lot of people believe that their government should spend their sums on these transpot which already they have in their country like metro buses, speedo in Pakistan,Bangladesh,Nepal etc.People think that when their government will use their 2 percent of their GDP on their existing transport system then their life will more pleasent such as their governmet have to construct more bridges and implement more metro buses because this will also reduce the pressure of people. They believe that they have limited public transport like buses etc.and if they will have more buses or any of these kind of transport then they will not have any hesitation.

In my perspective, government should always improve their pre-existed transport on the grounds that people know about everyting thing about their public transport which they already have. For example,I live in Pakistan and in my country we have speedo buses, electro transport but in limited amount. If the government of my country will make more these type of transport then we will be able to do our work like a piece of cake.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both constructing new fast railway lines and improving existing public transport, and it includes a clear personal opinion in the final paragraph. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed in places. For example, while the writer mentions the Japanese bullet train and plans in Pakistan, the arguments supporting the construction of new rail lines are somewhat repetitive and lack deeper analysis of economic or environmental impacts. Similarly, the discussion on improving existing transport relies heavily on general assertions about GDP allocation and constructing bridges without fully exploring the broader implications. To reach the next level, the ideas need to be extended with more thorough explanations and fully supported examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some overall organisation with visible paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body points, and conclusion. However, there is no clear overall progression as transitions between ideas feel abrupt and mechanical. Cohesive devices are used inconsistently; phrases like 'In addition to,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In my perspective' are either slightly inaccurate in form or applied awkwardly to link sentences. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the pronoun use when shifting between different countries and transport types. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal logical sequencing requires better signposting to guide the reader smoothly from one argument to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'enhance,' 'GDP,' and 'hesitation,' but these are often accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling, such as 'evry,' 'Japanies,' 'bollet,' 'fastet,' 'exclated,' 'transpot,' and 'governmet.' These lexical slips and spelling errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the precision of the argument. To improve, the writer needs to expand their range of functional academic vocabulary and carefully check spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, with frequent reliance on basic patterns alongside attempts at complex sentences that are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors involving subject-verb agreement, articles, plurals, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. Examples include 'scientists and engineers is moving,' 'spend their sums on these transpot,' 'two percent of their GDP on their existing transport system then their life will more pleasent,' and 'everyting thing.' These persistent errors in grammar and punctuation cause friction and strain the reader's comprehension. Greater control over complex sentence construction and basic grammatical rules is necessary for further improvement.
