Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response addresses the prompt minimally, attempting to discuss both the construction of new railway lines and the improvement of existing public transport while offering a personal opinion. However, the length requirement is not met, as the response contains only 206 words, falling significantly short of the 250-word minimum. The ideas presented throughout the essay are very limited, repetitive, and severely under-developed, making it difficult to discern a fully formed argument. Phrases like 'From my prespective both is good' are repeated without substantial elaboration, meaning the task is only addressed in a very basic and tangential way.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

The overall arrangement lacks a clear logical progression. Although the text uses transitional phrases and formulaic openings such as 'From my prespective', these devices are used repetitively and mechanically rather than to build a coherent argument. Paragraphing is attempted with separate sections for the introduction, body paragraphs, and overview, but the internal organization within these sections is weak. Ideas jump abruptly without adequate referencing or smooth linking, causing the reader to struggle in following the progression of thought from one sentence to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple words and phrases such as 'good', 'trains', 'public transport', and 'goverments'. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form, including 'prespective' instead of perspective, 'distinations' instead of destinations, and 'travals' instead of travels. These lexical limitations and frequent inaccuracies strain the reader's understanding and restrict the expression of ideas to a very elementary level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The writing displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mostly of poorly constructed simple and complex sentences. Errors are frequent throughout the text and often distort meaning, such as 'If working both depends over roots' and 'goverments makes the new railways and train make new then its benefit over goverments'. There are persistent problems with subject-verb agreement, prepositions, verb forms, and articles, which cause frequent difficulty for the reader and prevent the formation of reliable sentence structures.
