Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people are of the opinion that it is crucial to invest substantial amount of money on developing new railways to facilitate speedy trains between cities. While others believe that, the money should be utilized on optimizing current public transport. Although it is important to construct faster railway lines to save time, I believe improving the existing public transport requires more attention to deal with increasing accidents.
On the one hand, constructing new railway lines is undoubtedly significant as it helps saving considerable amount of time required to travel from one place to another. A large number of people suffer due to heavy traffic congestion in roads on a daily basis. For example, building metro raillines in dhaka roads, which is one of the busiest cities in Bangladesh, have significatly diminished the sufferings of office going poeple and students. If more money is invested in such projects, it would made the life of the ordinary people a little bit easier. Subsequently, it would contribute to economic development of a country.
On the other hand, some people argue to improve the condition of the running public transport to mitigate accidents. The transport that are currently running through the roads of a country often fails to meet the standard required to conduct in busy roads. This is due to the fact that, he bus companies are reluctant to obey thus ignore the transport policies due to lack of strict punishment system. For example, there has been a significant increase in the number of accidents caused by unfit, speedy buses. In my opinion, safety of the countrie's people is the first and foremost duty of the government which can be done by improving the current publuc transport.
In conclusion, although builiding new railway line result in economic development. I belive it is more important to look out the safety of pedestarian, office workers and students.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear preference: faster railways can save time, but improving current transport is more important for safety. The Dhaka example supports the benefits of new rail infrastructure, while the discussion of unfit buses and accidents explains your position. This is relevant and gives the response a clear direction. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the railway paragraph focuses mainly on reduced travel time and economic development, while the case for improving existing transport would benefit from more specific measures, such as vehicle inspections or driver training, and an explanation of how these would reduce accidents. The conclusion restates your view but could more directly compare the two investments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow, and the examples are placed in relevant paragraphs. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent overall arrangement and shows some stronger control through clear paragraphing. To make the flow more consistently smooth, improve links between claims and explanations: for instance, the move from reduced travel time to economic development is asserted rather than fully connected. Some transitions are mechanical, and punctuation around linking phrases is occasionally awkward. Clearer referencing and more explicit connections between each example and its main point would strengthen cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “traffic congestion,” “economic development,” “transport policies,” and “accidents,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “substantial amount” and “mitigate.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “invest money on” is less suitable than “invest money in,” “the running public transport” is unclear, and “conduct in busy roads” does not express the intended meaning naturally. Spelling errors such as “significatly,” “poeple,” and “publuc” are also noticeable. Communication remains possible, but more accurate collocations and careful proofreading are needed to make the vocabulary consistently appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex forms, including a concession in “Although it is important to construct faster railway lines…” and a relative clause in the Dhaka example. The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “it helps saving” should be “it helps to save,” and “it would made” should be “it would make.” There are also agreement and article problems in “The transport that are” and “a significant amount of money,” as well as sentence-boundary issues in the conclusion, where “although” introduces an incomplete clause. Review verb patterns, subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, then check each sentence for a complete main clause.
