Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is widely believed that, in some countries they tend to use their capital for the development of new fast railway tracks. On the other hand, others belived that it should be spent on other existing public transport to enhance transport facility. I think that goverment must focus on the development of existing transport facility first because it is necessary to improve existing transport at first. This essay will discuss both views with relevent and in a convinient way.

Firstly, the railways are kindly effective for people to travel one to another place fast and easy. Nowadays, people are searching for easy path of transportaion. Consequently, for the fast and reliable transport facility the trains are more useable. For example, people who used to travel through other facility can takes a while time to reach their destination whereas trains are likely to consume shorter time to reach the destination. It can save people's plenty of times and they find this facility convinient.

Secondly, Other existing public transports like Bus, Motorcycle and other facilities are useful as railway. In recent times, the demand of transports are highly comperetive for people. Thus, this facility has some disadvantages like it takes long time mustly when they travel through busy highway that somtimes they may stuck in traffick jam. On the other hand, it also has positive impacts. As a example can be people who wants to go different areas where the road conditions are not good but they can easily go their by motorbikes. People find it as a easy path to travel different underdevelopment places.

In conclusion, the imrovement of both railway and other existing facility are essential for the development of a country. It has some negative as well as highly effecitve. I believed that the development of both transport facility are equally important for the development of a nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a relevant opinion in the introduction, saying existing transport should be improved first, and you discuss both faster railways and other transport. However, the response only partially fulfils the task because the comparison is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph explains the speed advantage of trains, while the second focuses mainly on buses and motorbikes, without explaining in detail why investment in existing systems should take priority. Your conclusion also shifts to saying both forms of transport are equally important, which does not fully match your initial preference. Develop each view with clearer reasons and examples, then maintain one position throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” help identify the sections. However, the overall progression is limited: the relationship between the points is not always clear, and the second paragraph moves from the usefulness of existing transport to traffic disadvantages and then to motorbikes in underdeveloped areas. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, as in “On the other hand” where the contrast is not clearly established. The conclusion also introduces an equal-importance position rather than resolving the argument set up earlier. Organise each paragraph around one main claim and use linking phrases to show precise relationships between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “railway tracks,” “public transport,” “destination” and “traffic jam,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “transport facility,” “easy path of transportation” and “more useable.” Spelling errors—including “belived,” “goverment,” “convinient” and “comperetive”—also make the writing less clear and polished. Aim for more precise transport vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, describe “improving existing public transport services” rather than repeatedly referring to “transport facility,” and use natural collocations such as “reduce journey times” or “reach remote areas.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “Consequently” and a contrast introduced by “whereas.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences often contain errors that can make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “people who used to travel through other facility can takes a while time,” where the verb form and sentence construction are faulty, and “the demand of transports are,” which has an agreement problem. Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “As a example can be people.” Practise building accurate sentences with one clear main clause, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammar is secure.
