Student answer (Band 4.5)
Some people believe that it is necessary to spend large sums of money on constructing new railway lines for very fast trains between cities or the money should be spent on improving existing public transport.I believe, that we need to spent money on existting public transport should be given greater priority.
Regarding to public transport we need to improved because many peoples facing problems in public transport no proper timing, delays on coming stations so that why i believe we need to improved public transport.Because many peoples using public transport for going to offices or their buniesses so thats why peoples prefer public transport as compared to railway.
Overall, railway mostly peoples use for travelling cities to cities and it is not use in city for local work. But public transport is use in the city also or cities to cities also so we mostly peoples used public transports for going their work, offices etc.In my opinion, public transports is more relaible for the peoples and its cheaper than railway tickets and we need to work and improved public transports. For example,if i wanna go my office so obviously i prefer to chose public transport if i wanna go across the city mean out of city then i will choose railway but mostly our many works are in the city not out of the city.
In my knowledge or experience, mostly peoples will be prefer for public transport so we need to spent money on public transports not on the railway because railway is not using on daily basis so we need to spent money on public transports for improved.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear preference for improving existing public transport, and you give relevant reasons, including delays, daily commuting needs and lower costs. However, the response discusses the benefits of existing transport much more than the case for building very fast inter-city railways; that opposing view is only briefly mentioned and not explained. Your examples are also limited, with the office journey mainly repeating your point rather than developing it. The response contains 234 words, so it is 16 words below the required minimum; the 30 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. To address the task more fully, explain a benefit of high-speed rail, compare the two options, and develop your own position with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure, and the reader can generally follow your central preference for public transport. You also use a few linking expressions, such as “Regarding to” and “For example.” However, ideas are not arranged in a clear, progressive discussion of both views: the second and third paragraphs repeat the case for public transport, while the railway perspective receives little development. Several links are awkward or unclear, including “Overall” at the start of a paragraph that adds another reason rather than summarising. Long sentences joined by “so” and “because” also make relationships between points harder to follow. Give each view a distinct paragraph, then use a final paragraph to state and justify your comparison and opinion.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “public transport,” “railway,” “delays,” “cheaper” and “daily basis,” so your main meaning is usually understandable. However, the range is narrow and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “public transport,” “people” and “spend money.” Some choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “no proper timing,” “coming stations” and “railway is not using on daily basis.” Spelling errors, including “existting,” “buniesses” and “relaible,” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of topic-specific expressions and check spelling and natural word combinations; this will help you express comparisons more precisely without relying on repeated basic wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can understand your main opinion. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries. Examples include “we need to spent,” “many peoples facing problems,” “public transports is” and “we need to improved.” Some sentences are joined in ways that obscure their structure, as in “I believe, that we need to spent money…” and the extended sentence beginning “Overall, railway mostly peoples use…”. Punctuation spacing and comma use are also inconsistent. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns such as “need to spend,” then separate ideas into shorter, complete sentences before attempting more complex structures.
