Student answer (Band 6.0)
Modern world cann't but relay on transportation as growth of its depens on connectivity nationally and internationally. Many countries citizen prefer to invest more on settling new routes for railways whereas others argue to spend on improvining public tarnsportation. This essay discuss both opinions with proper pros and cons along with my own view regarding that.
It is clear that, railway transportation is one of the major routes not only for people mobile but also for trade. Increasing fund on making new railway routes will be effective in terms of public affordability and trading feasibility. For longer distance, it's an efficient mode to travel due to it's lower price of ticket. Many developing and developed countries currently invest more to enhance this network. However, before making vast railway tracts roughly, it should be maintained the existing lines perfectly focusing on both of it infrastructures and services.
In contrast, public transport such as bus, ferry and others are daily vechiles for people. People use to choose public transports because of its accessibility. If the authories focus more on it by proper investing to make it more suitable and usable for general, people will be motivated more to use it. Consequently, uses of private cars may decrease which can reduce the heavy traffic of a country as well.
According to me, the regulators ought to shed the light on improving the existing public transports because just througly introduce new railway lines will increase the demand of servicing cost along with maintainance cost that may cause a burden for many countries.
In conclusion, rail is one of the best transport media mainly for longer distance travel but constructing new railway lines without proper planing may enhance it demerits by outweighing it merits. Rather, the governments should focus on modifying their existing public transport facilites by calculative funding.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for improving existing public transport. The railway paragraph gives relevant reasons, including affordability for longer journeys and benefits to trade, while the public-transport paragraph explains how better services could encourage people to leave private cars at home. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: the link between railway investment and “trading feasibility” is not illustrated, and the concern about servicing and maintenance costs in your opinion could be developed with a clearer comparison of likely benefits. Your conclusion restates your position, but the discussion would be more convincing if each view received similarly specific support and your preferred option were justified in greater depth.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This makes the progression easy to follow, and signposts such as “In contrast,” “According to me,” and “In conclusion” help readers identify the stages of the argument. The organisation is generally effective, though some links between ideas are abrupt. For example, the railway paragraph moves from affordability and trade to a warning about maintaining existing lines without explaining how that qualification relates to the case for new routes. The opinion paragraph also repeats the preference for existing transport without connecting it explicitly to the earlier point about reducing car use. Use clearer referencing and transitions to show how each reason supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of transport and policy vocabulary, including “railway routes,” “public transport,” “accessibility,” “traffic,” and “maintenance cost.” These choices make the topic clear, and phrases such as “reduce the heavy traffic” communicate a relevant consequence. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: examples include “depens,” “vechiles,” “authories,” and “facilites.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “settling new routes,” “people mobile,” and “shed the light on improving.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check word forms carefully. More precise terms for investment, service quality, and infrastructure would help express your ideas with greater control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional reasoning in “If the authories focus more on it …, people will be motivated more to use it” and a result clause beginning “which can reduce.” The main ideas are usually understandable, but grammatical errors recur across the response. For example, “This essay discuss” has subject–verb disagreement, and “Many countries citizen” needs a plural possessive form. Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “it should be maintained the existing lines,” while “due to it's lower price” uses the wrong form of the pronoun. Review agreement, articles, possessives, and clause structure, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen the argument.
