Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, travelling has become a huge struggle for everyone the main reasons to this is increasing in the job opportunities and schooling due to this the public has to travel long distance or to different cities to get to their work. In this the public transportation has a huge contribution as it made travelling easy for individuals. Due to this, many of them think that it is necessary to spend large sums of money on constructing new railway lines as it makes easy for them to travel to different cities. On the other hand, people who travel locally think that instead of railways money should be spent on improving existing public transport. So in this essay I will discuss both the views followed by the examples and my opinion.
To begin with, travelling between the cities has been increased as lots of people are doing jobs as well as their schooling far from their homes. Due to this, Railway plays an important role in their life. Firstly, it makes travel so easy, convenient and fast but some times it is crowded so people think that it need to be improved and also they think that it should also connect the remote areas. For instance, in ahmedabad metro line is been develop which connects Gandhinagar and ahmedabad which improved the connective and travelling.
On the other hand, some of them who travel locally suggest that huge sum of money should be invested on the the existing public transport as they think it is very important as the this it is more convenient rather then using railway but some time it becomes a task getting a tickets in the public transport . For instance, book cabs is more convenient for some individuals but at late night it might be difficult.
In my opinion, I feel that every public transport need to be developed as both things are important as people select the transport based on the requirements.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a position: the first body paragraph supports rail links, the second considers local transport, and the conclusion says both should be developed. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The benefits of fast inter-city trains are described mainly as making travel “easy, convenient and fast,” while the case for improving existing transport is less clearly explained and shifts to cabs and difficulty getting tickets. The Ahmedabad example is relevant, but its connection to the argument is not fully clarified. Your opinion that both are important is present, yet it does not explain how investment should be balanced or prioritised. Develop each view with a clear reason and a specific, well-explained example, and make your final position more decisive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify the intended structure. You also use signposts such as “To begin with” and “On the other hand.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from inter-city travel to crowding and remote areas, while the second shifts from public transport to booking cabs and late-night access. Several links are repetitive or mechanical, particularly repeated uses of “Due to this” and “For instance.” Some sentences run together, making relationships between ideas harder to follow. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it, using clearer sentence boundaries and more varied, precise linking.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “railway lines,” “public transportation,” “remote areas,” and “convenient.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, such as “travel,” “important,” and “easy.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “a huge struggle,” “the connective,” and “getting a tickets,” which can make the intended meaning less precise. Spelling and capitalisation are also inconsistent in place names, such as “ahmedabad.” Aim for more precise transport-related vocabulary and check whether words naturally combine in English. For example, describe a service as “reliable” or “accessible,” and refer to “connectivity” rather than “the connective.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as” and “but,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the reader work to understand the message. Examples include “the main reasons to this is,” “travelling between the cities has been increased,” and “it need to be improved.” There are also sentence-boundary problems in the opening, where several ideas are joined without appropriate punctuation, and errors such as “a tickets.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a correctly formed supporting clause; then check subject–verb agreement, tense, articles, and full stops.
